Alexandre "gAuLeS" Borba is a Brazilian eSports player, caster, coach and full-time streamer on Twitch. A pillar of the CS:GO community for Brazil, gAuLeS has retired from the professional scene as both a player and coach after a long decorated career and now dedicates his channel to streaming and commentating Counter-Strike tournaments for Portuguese viewers.


gAuLeS first entered into gaming with the creation of his own eSports Organization, g3nerationX, on July 21st, 2001, and he would go on to win first place in the Virtual Space Championship 2003 with this organization, helping to increase its legitimacy. This match was later uploaded to YouTube by the channel fr0zeN[1] on July 31st, 2015, where it gained over 4,000 views in seven years (shown below).

Online History

After stepping down as a player, gAuLeS became a coach for the team, coaching them to several 1st place finishes in multiple tournaments for the next decade, stepping down in 2016. gAuLeS then became a professional commentator for Counter-Strike tournaments. Comparisons between gAuLeS casting prowess and those of other professionals are often made, especially due to his collaborations. For example, the YouTuber Turambar[2] uploaded a video of gAuLeS casting with another professional, Zorlak, gaining over 77,500 views in two years (shown below).


On his official Instagram, gAuLeS has over 1.8 million followers, which is mirrored by his Twitter hanging around 1 million followers. On YouTube, his official channel where he posts a variety of different video types has over 720,000 subscribers. His Twitch account has 3.7 million followers, averages 35,000 viewers per stream, and has over 39,700 hours streamed total, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive being over 70% of it.
