Overview

Jordan the Wholsome VRChat Kid is an adolescent VRChat user with a cat avatar. He rose to prominence thanks to a YouTube of a player following the player and documenting his commentary, which fans believe to be insightful, philosophical and funny. His most popular catchphrase, "live good, die great," has inspired memes, fanart and merchandise.

Online History

On August 5th, 2018, Syrmor uploaded a video titled, "Little Kid is too innocent for VRchat" (shown below). In the video, Syrmor plays a VRChat game with a child user named showcasing jordanlagreco. The video has gained over 650,000 views in ten days days.

Three days later, Facebook [1] user machinima shared the video. The post received more than 9.3 million views, 200,000 reactions and 200,000 shares in one week.



Reception

Online, people responded positively to videos of Jordan in VRChat. On August 6th, Redditor [2] rollingrath posted the video in the /r/videos subreddit. The post received more than 3,000 points (93% upvoted) and 200 comments.

Fandom

Jordan's innocence has caught on, spreading through the public through various forms of media, including T-Shirts and various artist renditions of his in-game "cat angel" avatar (example below, left and center).

On August 8th, YouTuber Woow Bloog published a speedpaint video of someone drawing the Jordan Cat Angel (shown below, right).

On August 10th, Syrmor posted an image of Jordan wearing one of the shirts that Syrmor produced that features the Angel Cat on Twitter. [3] They captioned the post, "JORDAN ROCKING A JORDAN SHIRT!!!!!! 😇 His mom says they are overwhelmed with all the kind words and she's been reading him nice comments for hours 😄 I've had so many great experiences in VRchat meeting so many amazing people and thank you all for being apart of that journey." The post (shown below) received more than 160 retweets and 600 likes in five days.
