About

Shylily is a VTuber known for her gaming, commentary and Just Chatting streams on Twitch. She is also known for her lewd sense of humor and frequently responding to and interacting with lewd comments. Shylily is a mixture of an orca whale and a cat, known as an "orcat." In August 2022, Shylily was temporarily banned from Twitch for an unknown reason, sparking discussions online.

Online History

Shylily began streaming and posting content to her YouTube[1] channel in 2021. Some of her earliest uploads are short clips where Shylily makes lewd jokes (examples shown below).

On January 10th, 2022, she made her re-debut stream on Twitch, where she showed off her new 3D character model, told viewers her lore, reacted to content and answered questions (shown below, left). On January 19th, Shylily uploaded a video to YouTube[2] explaining her lore in an anime style, garnering over 265,000 views in seven months (shown below, right).

Her two most viewed YouTube[3][4] uploads as of August 2022 are out of context compilations from her streams, uploaded in January and April 2022, garnering over 745,000 and 800,000 views, respectively, by mid-August that year (shown below, left and right).

2022 Twitch Ban

On August 15th, 2022, the @StreamerBans Twitter[5] account reported that Shylily's account was banned, gaining over 1,600 likes in under a day. That day, Shylily (@shylilytwitch) retweeted[6] the post, writing, "Pardon?," garnering over 14,000 likes in the same rough span of time. She then commented on the post, "My Tits too big," joking that that's the reason for the ban, garnering over 9,000 likes in less than a day. One user asked the reason and she commented, "They never give a reason, you are always left guessing. It's a smart way on their end to make decisions based on individuals instead of enforcing their ToS properly & fair on everyone." Some users began sharing the hashtag "#freelily" to demand Shylily's unbanning.

Later that day, @shylilytwitch tweeted[7] a video clip of the purported reason she was banned. In the clip, Shylily is standing in a 3D park environment. She picks up a pear, says, "hey kid, wanna see a magic trick?" then puts the pear up her skirt and groans, pulling her hand out of her skirt without a pear (shown below). The tweet gained over 37,900 likes in a day. It is unconfirmed by Twitch if this is the reason she was banned.

On August 17th, Shylily posted a video to YouTube discussing the ban. She says it's a three-day ban and she submitted an appeal, but it was denied. Twitch also did not elaborate on why she was banned (shown below). Throughout the video, she wonders if her character model's breasts are too big. The video gained over 70,000 views in under a day.

When you keep banning Vtubers for existing but let all the IRL titty streamers disingenously exploiting a loophole on the platform's ToS untouched because it is "ASMR/Yoga/Water-appropiate attire"
