Yammoo is a South Korean cooking blogger and AMSR Mukbang YouTuber known for her Mukbang videos featuring over-sized food items she makes herself.

Online History

In 2015, Yammoo began a cooking blog[1] in which she shared step-by step recipes of basic meals for beginners. On January 26th, 2016 she joined YouTube and has gained over 730,000 subscribers in three years.[2] That day, she uploaded her first cooking video (shown below, left). The video has gained over 333,900 views in three years. On February 17th, she uploaded her most popular video to date "how to make a cheese omelet" which has garnered over 3.3 million views in three years.

In 2019, Yammoo became known for her Oversized food ASMR Mukbang videos. On June 10th, she uploaded "Homemade King Sized Black Sugar (Tiger) Bubble Tea ASMR Mukbang" (shown below). The video accumulated over 2.8 million views in a month.

Reputation

Yammoo is known for her appreciation towards her fans as Yammoo's income relies on her fans. Yammoo nicknamed them "yamm-baechus (her “cabbages”)." As of July 2019, Yammoo has been ranked in the top 1% of popular YouTubers both globally and in South Korea. Her estimated earnings per video is over $41,000.[4]

Personal Life

According to The Verge,[3] Yammoo refuses to do any TV appearances or adopt any sponsors, relying solely on fan viewership. Her parents are notably supportive. Yammoo uses her Instagram[5] account, yammoo00, to post photos and videos of her friends. Her Instagram has over 75,000 followers as of July 2019.
