Phyllis and Ryan Office Christmas Party Photo is a series of object labeled image macros featuring a candid photograph from an episode of the American television series The Office.

Origin

On December 6th, 2005, the episode of The Office entitled "Christmas Party." During the episode, the cast shared a disposable camera and took photographs with it.^[1]

On November 30th, 2012, Tumblr ^[2] user posted a series of photographs from the digital camera, including one of Phyllis (played by Phyllis Smith) with her arm around Ryan (played by B.J. Novak). The post (shown below) received more than 7,400 notes in six years.

On April 23rd, 2018, Redditor ^[3] chromatyyk posted the image of Phyllis and Ryan in which Phyllis is labeled "30 year old guys at a hardcore show" and Ryan is labeled "16 year old girls." The post (shown below, left) received more than 11,000 points in 24 hours.

The following day, Redditor^[4] Alanm93 posted in the /r/dankmemes subreddit a version in which Phyllis is labeled r/dankmemes and Ryan is labeled "New Meme Format." The post (shown below, center) received more than 760 points (97% upvoted). Additionally, Redditor^[5] SUN_PRAISIN posted a version in the /r/shittydarksouls subreddit in which Phyllis is labeled "Pontiff Sulvahn" and Ryan is labeled "Twin Princes." The post (shown below, right) received more than 350 points (99% upvoted).
