Polynesian Spa refers to a series of remixes of a video showing actor Temuera Morrison, most notable for playing Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequels, relaxing in a pool and promoting a Polynesian spa in New Zealand. After the video was posted, it quickly became the subject of remix memes in which people edited the background behind him.

Origin

On June 13th, 2021, the Instagram account @polynesianspa posted a video in which Temuera Morrison explained he'd been away filming The Book of Boba Fett for seven months and while away he missed the "hidden gem" called Polynesian Spa in his hometown of Rotorua.

Spread

On June 15th, the video was reposted to the Facebook page Boba Fett Fan Club^[1] and to YouTube on June 17th.^[2] After the reposts, the video became the subject for various edits which featured Morrison in different locations. On June 21st, 2021, YouTuber Star Wars Expanded put out a parody of the video, gaining over 34,000 views (shown below, left). On June 26th, YouTuber Chewie's Meme Town posted an edit that featured a scene from Madagascar that gained over 18,000 views (shown below, right).
