About

POV: We're Cavewomen and I'm Telling You About My Ex, also known as the Cavewomen Trend, Cavegirls Trend or Talking Like a Cavewoman Trend, refers to a series of videos, a part of a TikTok trend, in which women talked like a cavewoman (or a cavegirl) when telling a story about their lives. The aforementioned POV catchphrase was the most common caption for the videos, in which the female TikToker told a story about their ex-boyfriend or husband while speaking like a cavewoman. The dialect involves using "me" in place of "I" and other possessive, first-person pronouns, among other humorous simplifications of speech meant to sound primitive.

Origin

On September 26th, 2025, TikToker[1] @em.brdly shared a video of herself with the caption, "POV: we're cavewomen and I'm telling you about my evil ex." She talked like a cavewoman in the video, meaning that she talked in a simplified form, replacing the "I" pronoun and other first-person possessive pronouns with "me." The video was posted as a reply to a comment on a precursor, since-deleted video, likely following the same premise. Over 10 days, the video received over 587,000 likes.

Earlier that month, on September 7th, TikToker[3] @tiny_tobasco posted a skit about a conversation between two cavewomen, paired with the POV caption, "POV: The cave girl you think mean but she girl's girl." The video received over 376,400 likes in a month.

Video skits in which the premise relied on talking like a cavewoman were also shared before 2025.

For instance, on August 11th, 2024, TikToker[6] @jennajennajenn shared a video about a beauty pageant mom from 10,000 B.C., in which she spoke like a cavewoman with an American Southern accent. Over one year, the video received over 173,800 likes.

TikToker[7] @jennajennajenn then posted a similar skit on September 16th, 2024, about a Pick Me Girl from 10,000 B.C. Over one year, it gained roughly 201,500 likes.

On September 29th, 2025, TikToker[2] @tiny_tobasco added to the trend and tagged @em.brdly. She showed herself telling a similar story in a cavewoman cadence, paired with the caption, "POV we're cavegirls and me tell you about my ex and my revenge." Over one week, the video received over 102,300 likes.
