"Regretful Hulk" is an object labeled image macro series of the Incredible Hulk from the film Avengers: Endgame. The image is a two-panel macro of Hulk watching himself attacking a car and looking down at the ground with embarrassment.

Origin

On April 26th, 2019, the film Avengers: Endgame debuted in theaters in the United States.^[1] In the film, Hulk and the Avengers travel through time and observe the actions of the first Avengers film. At one point, Hulk sees himself smashing a car and becomes embarrassed (clip below).

Spread

On July 10th, 2019, Redditor ^[2] gay_bulbasaur posted a two-panel meme of the moment that labeled the smashing Hulk "Old Testament" and the embarrassing Hulk "New Testament." The post received more than 34,000 points (93% upvoted) and 520 comments in less than two months (shown below, left).

Over the next week, Redditors continued to post variations of the meme on the site (examples below, center and right).
