Riley It Okay I'm Joy is a TikTok spam comment, copypasta and original sound referencing the Inside Out 2 character Riley and her emotion, Joy. The comment was originally posted by TikToker @⭐️⭐️✨✨✨💛joy! (now @cokeandmintoesblowesup) in late June 2024 on a video by @neena.hs, with the original sound, which reads the comment in several distorted voices, being created by TikToker @rileyitokimjoy, garnering over 19,000 uses in only a few days.

Origin

On June 26th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @neena.hs posted a video lip-syncing to "jealousy, jealousy" by Olivia Rodrigo that garnered over 3 million views in two weeks (shown below). Several comments under the video compare the way she looks to the character Riley from the Inside Out movies.

Shortly after the video was uploaded, potentially on June 27th, TikToker^[2] @⭐️⭐️✨✨✨💛joy! (who has now purportedly changed their username @cokeandmintoesblowesup) posted a comment pretending to be Joy from the movies, writing, "RILEY IT OKAY IM JOY😁😁😁😁" garnering over 5,000 likes in two weeks. A screenshot of the comment, which has since been seemingly deleted from the video, was posted to the subreddit /r/youngpeopleinternet^[2] on July 2nd (shown below).

A nearly identical comment exists under the video, left by TikToker @comisco, but appears to be from a different account, as the username, comment, date it was posted and number of likes do not match the screenshot posted to Reddit. Some have mistaken this comment as the original.

Spread

On July 8th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @rileyitokimjoy posted a now-deleted video in which she recites the comment several times in different inflections, garnering an unknown number of views before it was removed. She has since reuploaded the video (shown below). The comment also saw use as a copypasta and spam comment on TikTok.

The original sound^[4] for the initial upload, which still exists, garnered over 19,000 uses over the next few days, largely as a source for ironic memes often relating to Inside Out. Some users also began spamming the comment to Mama Owl, a TikToker experiencing a controversy at the time.

For example, on July 9th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @serene._.dreamer posted a video spamming the comment under a Mama Owl video, garnering over 1.4 million views in a day (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker^[6] @kaykitz posted a lip dub meme using the audio, garnering over 560,000 views in a day (shown below, right).
