History

On August 31st, 2021, the Twitter account shirtsthtgohard posted its first tweet,^[1] being an image of a black-and-pink shirt that read, " GOOD POO NOW WIPE ONE PISS NO SEX SMALL WANK BIG CUM," with a caption that referenced Big Chungus. Over the course of 10 months, the tweet received 13 likes (shown below).

The account continued to post content going into the remainder of 2021 and into early 2022, receiving its first spike in engagement on April 27th, 2022, when it tweeted^[2] a T-shirt that read, "Please Don't Do Ketamine Off The Koala Kare Changing Station," and earned roughly 135,600 likes in two months (shown below, left). On May 5th, 2022, the account tweeted^[3] a T-shirt with former U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un on it related to the World Peace Summit II held in February 2019. Over the course of a month and a half, the tweet received roughly 44,500 likes (shown below, right).

Features

The majority of the account's content is based on image macros of funny T-shirts commonly related to memes or referencing internet humor. The account advertises that it accepts submissions and it's assumed a majority of its content comes from submissions. Additionally, the account often finds and uploads the source of each T-shirt so that its followers can find it and purchase it.

The subject matter of the shirts is often NSFW, having to do with sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. This adds to the shock value of the page's content and its overall vitality. Plus, this subject matter reiterates the signifying adjective "goes hard."
