The bizarre combination of internet slang and memes led to jokes on TikTok in March 2024, especially video edits of dogs saying the copypasta lines.

Origin

On January 29th, 2024, TikTok^[1] user @elangelsg_ uploaded a video featuring pictures of the Shannon Sharpe Fit Checks meme, IShowSpeed and other meme-related internet personalities paired with a slang overload audio referring to terms like Skibidi Toilet, Sigma, Pomni, Fortnite and many other slang terms or internet culture references. The video (shown below) amassed over 4.3 million plays and 615,000 likes in three months.

TikToker @elangelsg_'s video was turned into a slang overload copypasta a few weeks later in February 2024. However, the most viral example of the trend was uploaded on March 3rd, 2024, by TikTok user @dawgalawgnews,^[2] who animated a dog's head with the Revive app to read the copypasta lines. The video (shown below, left) amassed over 10 million plays and 2 million likes in two weeks.

On March 5th, TikTok^[3] user @prl.xr posted a video using another dog's head (the same used in the So Wake Me Up Dog meme) to read the copypasta lines (shown below, left), which amassed roughly 5 million plays and 680,000 likes in two weeks.

The copypasta has also been shared on X / Twitter, as user @Luk4VT^[4] posted on March 14th, 2024, that they learned all the lines of the meme (shown below). The post amassed roughly six likes in a week.
