Sniper Style or Sniper Position is an internet slang term referring to the act of performing oral sex on a woman while laying on your stomach like a sniper as opposed to on your knees, which is known as Pray Style. The term was first defined on Urban Dictionary in April 2022 and was popularized on Twitter in January 2023 after several tweets referencing it went viral, inspiring memes about sniper style.

Origin

It is unknown when the term "sniper style" or "sniper position" was first used in reference to a position of engaging in oral sex. One of the first notable examples was posted by Twitter^[6] user @thaboyjozu on October 5th, 2021, writing, "I eat pussy in the sniper position with my legs swaying in the air," garnering over 8,500 likes in just over a year. Sniper style was first defined on Urban Dictionary^[1] on April 26th, 2022 by HoustonHottieee, writing, "Giving oral sex on your stomach instead of your knees."

Spread

On October 17th, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @Jay_FnHarris posted a video of a polar bear crawling across the ice on its belly, writing, "When you bout to go eat coochie in the sniper position," garnering over 21,000 likes and 3,800 retweets in three months (shown below).

On January 17th, 2023, Twitter^[3] user @UberCiph posted, "Eating pussy in the sniper position gotta be done in the dark so that I can hump the bed in peace," garnering over 58,000 likes and 5,500 retweets in three days. The next day, Twitter^[4] user @LilBanng commented with a story under the tweet that gained over 240 likes in two days (shown below).

On January 18th, Twitter^[5] user @miliondollameat posted, "do u eat pussy pray style or sniper style?" garnering over 22,000 likes and 1,800 retweets in two days. The post inspired numerous memes about sniper style over the following days (examples shown below).
