The caption refers to pegging, a practice in which a man receives anal sex by a woman wearing a strap-on. It grew popular as a reaction image and redraw reference in 2024.

Before February 6th, 2023, an unknown user uploaded fan art of Bocchi the Rock! showing the character Hitori Gotoh jumping on Kita Ikuyo with the caption "So true bestie. Pegs you". The earliest repost was on February 6th, 2023, when Twitter / X^[1] user @TsuzuHEH uploaded the image and used it as a reaction image to @sleepsop's tweet. The post received 437 likes in one year (shown below).

Spread

In 2024, the image gained popularity as a redraw reference. For example, on November 24th, 2023, Reddit^[2] user PennyJoyride uploaded Honkai Star Rail fan art to the /r/okbuddytrailblazer subreddit. The post received more than 1,800 upvotes in four months (shown below).

On January 11th, 2024, Twitter / X^[3] user @KETTEI_EXE uploaded Hololive virtual youtuber Nerissa Ravencroft and Shiori Novella fan art.
