Hitler Sex Games

Overview

Hitler Sex Games refers to a number of erotic video games released by indie developers on Steam whose content mainly revolves around having sex with the Nazi German leader Adolf Hitler. The games include titles such as Sex With Hitler, Furry Hitler and Hitler: BDSM Bunker and have been used as troll gifts on the platform, inspiring viral posts on social media throughout the early 2020s.

History

On October 26th, 2020, developer Mova Games released Sex With Stalin, an erotic visual novel game about a time traveler meeting Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and having sex with him, on Steam^[1] (shown below, left). On January 22nd, developer Romantic Room released SEX with HITLER, an erotic top-down shooter in which Nazi Germany's leader Adolf Hitler has graphic sex with anime girls, on Steam^[2] (shown below, right).

On December 17th, 2022, Romantic Room released SEX with HITLER 2,^[3] a sequel to the original game.

Through 2022 and 2023, more erotic video games in the visual novel and other genres centered around having sex with Adolf Hitler were released on Steam,^[4][5] including Hitler: BDSM Bunker and Furry Hitler.

Reception

On Steam, SEX with HITLER maintains a Very Positive (80 percent) rating with over 1,200 user reviews. The sequel game, SEX with HITLER 2 has a Very Positive (87 percent) rating with over 110 user reviews.

Impact

Erotic video games about Adolf Hilter have been often used as troll gifts on Steam and inspired viral posts about the phenomenon. On January 22nd, 2022, Twitter^[6] user @colonvee made the earliest notable post about SEX with HITLER, with the tweet gaining over 430 retweets and 1,100 likes in one year (shown below, left). On January 22nd, Steam^[7] user Peternutbutter shared a review in which they highlighted a historical inaccuracy in the game, which depicted Hitler as having two testicles and not just one (shown below, right). In the following days, VICE^[8] and Kotaku^[9] reported on the review and the game, with a tweet^[10] by Kotaku gaining over 240 retweets and 2,600 likes in one year.

The game has been used as a troll gift on Steam. For example, on June 25th, 2022, Twitter^[11] account @OddSteamReviews posted a screenshot of a review about the game that gained over 280 retweets and 4,900 likes in eight months. On December 20th, Twitter^[12] user @LyleRath posted a screenshot of the recently released SEX with HITLER 2, writing, "ONCE is maybe an honest mistake but at some point you gotta say enough." The post gained over 2,900 retweets and 58,900 likes in two months (shown below, right).
