About

Winnie's Hole is an upcoming game developed by Twice Different and published by Steam. In the game, the player controls a virus infecting the memorable children's character Winnie-the-Pooh, maneuvering throughout his body while collecting resources and capturing healthy cells, transforming him into a monstrous entity. The game is expected to be released sometime in 2023.

History

On June 7th, 2023, the Australian studio Twice Different[1] announced the development of a horror-take game in which Winnie-the-Pooh is infected by a virus that controls and transforms him into a monster. A trailer[2] was revealed (shown below), which amassed over 31,000 views and 783 likes in five months.

The game is set to be released sometime in 2023.

Reception

The announcement of the indie game was received with initially mixed reactions, as IGN[3] editor Cristina Alexander recalled "Winnie's Hole is the second time that Pooh Bear has gotten the horror treatment since he entered public domain last year," mentioning the 2022 horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.

Online Presence

The game generated buzz on social media, as the bizarre premise of controlling Winnie's infected body became the subject of discussions and memes.
