X-Men '97 is an upcoming American animated cartoon series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+, which is based on the X-Men: The Animated Series, which originally aired between 1992 and 1997. The show will serve as a revival or reboot, continuing from where the original series ended. X-Men '97 is expected to premiere on March 20th, 2024, and will consist of 10 episodes.


Disney+ announced[2] the revival of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series on November 12th, 2021. On February 15th, 2024, the first trailer of the series was released on YouTube[3] by @Marvel, which amassed more than 700,000 views and 99,000 likes in a few hours (shown below).


X-Men '97 is set to continue the story of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series, showing memorable characters like Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue and other mutants years after the original show ended the story.[1]

Online Presence

Online, many fans were eagerly waiting for more details about the show following the trailer reveal in early 2024. For example, on February 15th, 2024, the X[4] page @XMenUpdate posted a clip showing Wolverine and Gambit (shown below) from the show's trailer, which garnered over 72,000 views and 2,800 likes in a few hours.

On February 15th, 2024, TikTok[5] user @tooturnttonystark posted his reaction to the series trailer (shown below, left), which received roughly 4,000 plays and 640 likes in a few hours. On the same day, TikTok[6] user @movie.review_man.man.man posted his reaction to the trailer (shown below, right), amassing more than 16,000 plays and 1,100 likes in a few hours.
