The Weeknd "Fuckin' Stretch That Tiny, Little Pussy" is a quote from the HBO show The Idol (created by Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria) in which the character Tedros (played by Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd) says to the character Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) the aforementioned lewd phrase during a sex scene in the show's second episode. The clip of the scene went viral on Twitter in June 2023, leading to memes and reactions online that mostly made fun of The Weeknd's delivery of the line, as well as criticism of the show's writing in general.

Origin

On June 11th, 2023, season one, episode two of The Idol titled "Double Fantasy" was released on HBO.^[1] Later on the same day, June 11th, Twitter^[2] user @melissaxperez_ tweeted a clip from the episode, captioning it, "I will never see the weeknd the same after this #theidol." The clip showed the character Tedros (played by The Weeknd) telling the character Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), "Fuckin' stretch that tiny, little pussy," among other overtly sexual statements during the foreplay of a sex scene. In two days, @melissaxperez_'s tweet gained roughly 30,100 likes (shown below).

Spread

After Twitter^[2] user @melissaxperez_'s tweet went viral, multiple quote retweets and reposts of the video surfaced on the platform, predominantly criticizing The Weeknd's delivery of the line. For instance, on June 12th, 2023, Twitter^[3] user @kzzrttt wrote, "that man has the sex appeal of a wooden plank holy shit," gaining roughly 17,600 likes in one day (shown below, left). Also on June 12th, Twitter^[4] user @fbgwayno wrote, "I hope he know he goin to hell for this," gaining roughly 14,700 likes in one day (shown below, right).

Going into June 2023, viral QRTs^[5] persisted on the app. The memes also spread elsewhere. For instance, on June 12th, 2023, TikToker^[6] @fentyreloaded posted a video of a man saying, "Your little pussy belongs to me," with text reading, "Why was the weeknd talking like this on the idol," gaining roughly 162,900 plays and 42,600 likes in less than a day (shown below).

Also, meme creators started to use the screencap from Twitter^[2] user @melissaxperez_'s tweet that had the subtitles reading The Weeknd's quote. For instance, the first known to do so was Twitter^[7] user @farner2ocken on June 12th, who paired the screencap with a photo of him stretching his cat vertically, gaining over 120 likes in one day (shown below).
