Themed Blowjob is a phrasal template that imagines a blowjob with a theme, following the format X Themed Blowjob in which the "X" is replaced with some pop culture reference (movie, TV show, video game, clothing brand, etc.) or an aesthetic. Some notable examples are an "Arcteryx themed blowjob" and a "Dark Souls themed blowjob," among others. The meme started in 2015 based on a Tinder message that prompted a "Naruto themed blowjob" in exchange for weed. The meme continued into 2023, mainly surfacing on Twitter.

Origin

On August 22nd, 2015, the Tumblr^[1] blog crab-treehill-blog posted a screenshot of a Tinder conversation with a man named Wiliam who texted, "Naruto themed blow job? For weed?" to which the recipient responded, "what the fuck is a naruto themed blow job" (shown below). The post received roughly 214,000 notes over eight years.^[2]

Spread

The Tinder screenshot was reposted to multiple platforms and websites going into the late 2010s, such as on August 1st, 2017, it was reposted to the /r/Tinder^[3] subreddit where it gained over 900 upvotes in six years. On April 11th, 2020, the meme was reposted to iFunny ^[4] gaining roughly 1,600 smiles in three years.

On October 9th, 2021, Twitter^[5] user skatie420 tweeted, "neurodivergent themed blowjob," earning roughly 3,200 likes in two years (shown below, left). The tweet inspired various iterations going into the early 2020s. For instance, on January 17th, 2022, Twitter^[6] user notsofiacoppola tweeted about a dream she had in which a "david lynch themed blowjob" was mentioned, earning roughly 17,800 likes in one year (shown below, right).

On December 8th, 2021, Twitter^[7] user glockk1tty tweeted three photos with the caption, "Arcteryx themed blowjob?" earning over 890 likes in one year (shown below, left). Roughly a year later, on October 10th, 2022, Twitter^[8] user ech0astral tweeted a recaptioned version of the original "Naruto themed blowjob" meme, replacing the text with "arcteryx themed blowjob," and earning roughly 15,100 likes in four months (shown below, right).
