Toilet Swinging ASMR or Toilet Smashing ASMR refers to an ASMR trend on TikTok where two toilets or similar appliances are attached to ropes from the ceiling and swung side-by-side until they smash into each other and break. The trend, similar to glass bottle ASMR, was popularized by Russian TikTokers @birikol23 in October 2023, gaining viral spread that month and inspiring reactions.
Origin
On October 1st, 2023, Russian TikToker[1] @birikol23 posted a video where two toilets suspended from the ceiling by ropes, both filled with blue water, swing side-by-side until one smashes the other while the uploader exclaims throughout, "oh no, toilet," garnering over 47.4 million views in three weeks (shown below). This is the earliest known toilet swinging video.

The TikToke[2][3] continued to post toilet swinging videos over the course of the month, many gaining virality. On October 6th, he uploaded two versions of the trend where TVs are attached to the tops of the toilets, garnering over 12 million views and 31 million views (shown below, left) respectively in two weeks. On October 7th, the TikToker[4] uploaded a version of the trend featuring mannequin head in the toilets, referencing Skibidi Toilet, garnering over 1.6 million views in the same span of time.

On October 6th, 2023, TikToker[5] @richardsalesofficial posted a reaction, garnering over 361,000 views in three weeks (shown below, left). On October 8th, TikToker[6] @dannydorito23 posted a reaction, garnering over 44,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On October 13th, TikToker[6] @birikol23 posted a video where he swings a toilet into stacks of colored bottles, garnering over 1.3 million views in 10 days (shown below). On October 22nd, X,[7] formerly Twitter, user @femceldorito, reposted one of the videos, writing, "bruh what is my fyp anymore," garnering over 24,900 likes and 3,400 retweets in two days. On October 23rd, X[8] user @george78guy reposted one of the videos, writing, "what the hell is this and i have no idea what this is supposed to mean," garnering over 200 likes in under a day.
