On August 7th, 2026, the @DiscussingFilm X^[1] / Twitter page posted a behind-the-scenes photograph of actor Tom Holland on the set of the movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In the photograph, Holland is seen wearing contact lenses that make his eyes appear entirely black. The post gained over 91,000 likes and 5,900 reposts in three days.

That day, the image became the subject of edits as it became a meme online. One of the earliest examples was posted as a comment that day by X^[2] user @TheFilmGems, who added antennae taken from Guardians of the Galaxy character Mantis to Holland's forehead, garnering over 6,900 likes in three days.

On August 9th, 2026, X^[3] user @therealchoopo posted an edit of the photo that alters Holland to look like an alien, referencing the "Bogos Binted" meme, garnering over 9,500 likes in a day.

That night, X^[4] user @udonmarii posted a version of the meme that depicts Tom Holland as Octopus Lucio from Overwatch, garnering over 7,700 likes in a day.
