Vincent Flibustier "First Day at CrowdStrike" Tweet refers to a Twitter / X post reading, "First day at Crowdstrike, pushed a little update and taking the afternoon off ✌️" posted by user Vincent Flibustier (@vinceflibustier) who alleged to be a former CrowdStrike employee who was fired for implementing the update that caused the 2024 Microsoft Global Outage. Flibustier is pictured in a blue hoodie giving the camera a peace sign and duck face, seemingly located at the CrowdStrike headquarters with the company's logo on the wall behind him. Flibustier's tweet was satire as he's never been employed by CrowdStrike. Flibustier instead runs the parody news site Nordpresse. Regardless, the post amassed millions of views after its upload, generating memes and interest, including some who believed the post to be real.

On July 19th, 2024, X[1] user Vincent Flibustier (@vinceflibustier) tweeted a selfie of himself appearing to be at the CrowdStrike headquarters with a captioned reading, "First day at Crowdstrike, pushed a little update and taking the afternoon off ✌️." In less than a day, the tweet amassed over 10.9 million views and 207,000 likes (shown below).

Flibustier used the tweet to create a thread of replies, including a video in which he stated, "It was indeed definitely absolutely certainly me who did the CrowdStrike modification that caused all this worldwide …" The video received over 1.6 million views and 6,300 likes over the same timeframe (shown below).


In his X[2] bio, Flibustier wrote, "Former Crowdstrike employee, fired for an unfair reason, only changed 1 line of code to optimize. Looking for a job as Sysadmin" (shown below).

Vincent Flibustier is not a CrowdStrike employee and he was not fired by the company. Flibustier runs the parody news site Nordpresse on the Belgian internet.[4][5]
