Watching Child Po Rn, also known as Watching X Po Rn, refers to a series of memes in which variations of the phrasal template "watching X po rn" ("X" being a category of pornography) are used alongside various images of Po from Kung Fu Panda. The joke is comprised of removing the space between "po" and "rn" to create the word "porn," whereas with the space it reads, "Po right now." The meme was popularized on Twitter in early March 2023 after a user made a joke about watching "child Po" and gained viral spread on sites including Reddit and Instagram in the following days.

Origin

On March 2nd, 2023, Twitter^[1] user @FUBUKllll tweeted a scene from Kung Fu Panda 2 showing the protagonist Po as a baby, writing, "Watching child po rn makes me appreciate my parents more," garnering over 33,000 likes before it was deleted (shown below). The user commented under the post, "Wait. I shouldn't have put 'rn.'"

Spread

The meme spread over the following days on Twitter, also seeing viral spread on sites like Reddit and Instagram. On March 4th, 2023, Twitter^[2] user @mike27356894 posted an image from Kung Fu Panda, writing, "Im watching gay po rn," garnering over 101,000 likes in four days (shown below). That day, Twitter^[3] user @SeesoBeeso posted a version of the meme using the phrase "watching group po rn," garnering over 80 likes in the same span of time. The original meme was reposted to /r/wordington^[4] that day, garnering over 380 upvotes in four days. Instagram^[5] user willrepostmemes also reposted the original meme with an additional comment, garnering over 4,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).

On March 6th, Twitter^[6] user @db_witch posted a meme referencing the format, garnering over 62,500 likes in two days (shown below).
