What Are You Doing In My Swamp? refers to a line from the film Shrek that became the subject of several very popular YouTube remixes.

Origin

In the 2001 film Shrek, a moment occurs where the title character opens the door to his house, located in a swamp, and sees many fantasy characters on his property. He then exclaims, "What are you doing in my swamp?!" (shown below).



Spread

On March 18th, 2013, Soundcloud user Tom MC[1] uploaded the track "What are you doing in my swamp?" to the site. It has been played over 579,000 times and has gained over 11,800 likes and over 1,800 reposts (shown below).



The song was used in several popular videos posted to YouTube. On December 24th, 2013, YouTuber Shrek SFM uploaded a Source Filmmaker video set to the song that gained over 6.9 million views (shown below, left). On April 4th, 2014, YouTuber cherriemycheerios22 uploaded a remix using footage from the actual film Shrek, gaining over 3.4 million views (shown below, right).

The line has also been parodied in other popular YouTube videos. A video of Big Man Tyrone saying the line gained over 373,000 views (shown below, left). A video remixing the line with 300 footage posted by D_BudSnail gained over 224,000 views (shown below, right).
