Where is…? Here is meme template used to show an individual, place or thing is so important to someone that they are in their heart. It is taken from a Ukrainian nationalist video posted to youtube in 2014. It is often used to show grief or mourning for the loss of an individual or country. Sometimes used similarly to Press F to pay respect or Carefully, He's a hero.
Origin of meme
the Images come from a Ukrainian social advertising devoted to Defender of Ukraine Day. The advertisement was made by Ukrainian studio Sakvoyag and posted on YouTube on October 14, 2014. In the video a student is asked where France and Brazil are on a map and when asked where Ukraine is the student places his hand over his heart and says 'here' to show that he loves and values Ukraine.
Spread
The first instance of the meme was posted to r/MemeEconomy on the 8th of June 2017 by u/martynssimpson.
It was perhaps most famously used to comment upon the Rhodesian Bushwar and Rhodesia Renaming to Zimbabwe.
From there it has been used most popularly to express sadness for the loss of beloved actors Stefan Karl Stefanson and Billy Herrington.
