Would You Love Me 4 Ever or I Would Love You 5 Ever is a redraw meme format based on a Scariest Stories audio by Offlain about a man whose girlfriend takes her own life after he tells her he won't love her "4 ever," failing to say that he will actually love her "5 ever" in time. The audio became the subject of memes on TikTok in December 2024. That month, a webcomic in which Lammy from PaRappa the Rapper and Un Jammer Lammy asks Katy Kat if she'd love her "4 ever" and Katy responds, "No. I would love you 5 ever!" followed by Lammy hanging herself was posted to X / Twitter by @GVomitando. It became the subject of redraws over the following days in which popular ship pairings were drawn over the original characters.

Origin

On October 5th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @offlainnnn posted a video in which he tells bad, parody two-sentence horror stories. One of the stories goes, "My girlfriend asked me if I would love her forever. I said no. Before I could finish my sentence with 'I loves you five ever, get it?' she already killed herself." The video gained over 1.5 million views in two months.

The video became the subject of memes on TikTok in December 2024, in which the "love you 5 ever" story is visualized and recreated using various mediums. One of the earliest known examples was posted by TikToker^[2] @jangimiau on December 14th, 2024, in which the story is acted out with cats, garnering over 7.2 million views in a week.

On December 16th, TikToker^[3] @thegxxdwitchlvzura posted a version of the meme that uses footage from the animated series Arcane, garnering over 800,000 views in a week.

Un Jammer Lammy Redraw Format

On December 19th, 2024, X^[4] user @GVomitando posted a webcomic based on the audio in which they draw the same situation from the story with characters from PaRappa the Rapper, showing Lammy asking Katy Kat if she'd love her 4ever, Katy Kat then answering too late that she'd love her "5 ever" and Lammy hanging herself, garnering over 112,000 likes and 9,100 reposts in four days.

The comic became the subject of redraws on X and Reddit over the following days. For example, on December 21st, 2024, X^[5] user @RekoRekoRekoo posted a version based on the game Class of '09, garnering over 6,800 likes in two days.

That same day, X^[6] user @SweetSlave39 posted a redraw of the meme referencing Neon Genesis Evangelion that garnered over 48,000 likes in two days.

On December 22nd, X^[7] user @RYANWAN97138283 posted a redraw of the meme referencing Scott Pilgrim in which, in the final panel, Scott has been turned to coins after hanging himself, garnering over 5,700 likes in a day.

On December 23rd, 2024, X^[8] user @frechiiie posted a redraw of the meme featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, garnering over 11,000 likes and 890 reposts in under a day.
