Yoda Balloon is an image macro based on a 2018 photograph of a hot-air balloon shaped like the fiction character Yoda from the Star Wars film franchise.
Origin
On August 11th, 2018, Flickr [1] user Arthur Oleary posted an image entitled "Yoda balloon floating above a nearby farm, part of the All Ohio Balloon Fest." The post received more tahn 1,850 views and 130 views in less than two years (shown below).
Spread
Several months later, on December 4th, Redditor[3] QuodEratChinoi-_- posted a zoomed-in version of the photograph. The post received more than 9,600 points (97% upvoted) and 95 comments in less than 13 months (shown below, left).
That day, Redditor [2] Keegonis posted an object labeling version of the image. The post received more than 2,500 points (99% upvoted) in less than two years (shown below, center).
Days later, Redditor[4] JackSpeed00 posted a version in the /r/memes subreddit, where it received more than 4,400 points (96% upvoted) and 50 comments in less than two years (shown below, right).
