You Must Gangnam… Like I Have is a catchphrase used in a series of Roblox and Library of Ruina (LoR) memes and videos in which Roland (the protagonist of Library of Ruina) or a Roblox character dressed like him performs the Gangnam Style dance over the captions set to a remix of "Gangnam Style" and "Kether Battle 3." The phrase is a reference to the Roblox Experience Allusions in which the player fights The Black Silence, a character from LoR, who sometimes says the catchphrase. The phrase was later referenced in another Roblox Experience, "Item Asylum," in which players can purchase a Roland outfit and perform the "Gangnam Style" emote for an achievement.

Origin

On December 20th, 2022, YouTuber^[1] ems' delicious garbage posted a remix of the song "Kether Battle 3" from LoR and "Gangnam Style," titled "Roland Style," garnering over 167,000 views in seven months (shown below).

In the Roblox^[4] Experience Allusions, a game where players fight a number of enemies that reference other games, created by Klevinoroto, the player can fight The Black Silence, a version of Roland from LoR.^[2] During the fight, The Black Silence says, "You must suffer… like I have," which is shown in a video uploaded by YouTuber^[3] Bug on March 5th, 2023, garnering over 80,000 views in four months (shown below). The quote is not actually spoken by Roland in LoR, with the most similar quote being, "Angela, you have to feel the same sorrow as mine….. No. you have to feel even worse than that."

In the Roblox^[5] Experience Item Asylum, the player can purchase a "Gangnam Style" emote. When used while wearing the Roland outfit, the remix plays and the character says, "You must Gangnam… Like I have," referencing Allusions. A video of this was uploaded to YouTube^[6] by GimDILIVES on April 3rd, 2023, garnering over 11,800 views in three months (shown below).

On April 3rd, 2023, YouTuber^[7] jimbob3792 posted a video showcasing how you can get an achievement in Item Asylum by doing the "Gangnam Style" dance while wearing the Roland outfit, garnering over 73,000 views in three months (shown below, left). On April 19th, iFunny^[8] user professional_retard posted a GIF of Roland doing the dance over the caption, garnering around two smiles in three months. On May 10th, YouTuber^[9] madly uploaded a video consisting of the GIF set to the remix, garnering over 73,000 views in two months (shown below, right).
