Origin
The quote comes from Season 2, Episode 17 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, which aired July 25th, 2014.[1]
Spread
The image began spreading in Jojo memes in 2019. One of the earliest known examples was posted by Redditor BinomialMicrogramma on May 13th, 2019[2] in /r/ShitpostCrusaders, gaining over 450 likes (shown below, left). On July 18th, Redditor The_Smashor posted an example about the Kyoto Animation Attack (shown below, right).
The meme began growing in popularity during the second half of 2019. On September 15th, Redditor kanyeshaw posted an example in /r/dankmemes[3] that gained over 56,000 points (shown below, left). On September 19th, Redditor goldninjaI posted an example that gained over 26,000 points (shown below, right).
