About
Your Reward Will Be Great is an exploitable series based on a scene from the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. In the scene, the character King Neptune unveils a reward from a cloud of smoke to the character SpongeBob SquarePants. However, he accidentally unveils something else and quickly apologizes. The moment has been interpreted and edited in a series of images, GIFs and videos.
Origin
On April 1st, 2000, the episode of SpongeBob SquarePants entitled "Neptune's Spatula" aired on Nickelodeon. In the episode, Neptune pushes away a cloud of smoke and says:[1]
"And now, see the fate that may lie ahead. [summons the clouds] For if some minute chance you meet the challenge, your reward will be great. [opens the clouds] Behold! [shows Tom Kenny taking a shower and he screams; Neptune quickly closes the portal and blushes] Hehe. Whoopsie! Now, behold! [opens the clouds again and shows the city of Atlantis] My beloved home of Atlantis. A prize worthy of Apollo. You will reside here in this glorious palace, cook only for me, and be a god!"

One of the earliest known usages of the moment was published by YouTuber "TheRandom8or" on November 6th, 2010, replacing Tom Kenny with a video of Justin Bieber video. The post (shown below, left) received more than 50,000 views in eight years.
In 2013, the Tumblr blog ruinedchildhood uploaded a GIF of the moment, editing the image of Tom Kenny to footage of a woman twerking. In less than five years, the gif has received more than 35,000 notes.[2]
Over the next seven years, the meme existed mostly as a video remix series. On May 17th, 2017, YouTuber David Stevens uploaded a video compilation of examples. The post (shown below) received more than 8,000 views in one year.
On August 7th, 2018, Redditor Temanz_ [3] published a template of a four-panel exploitable image series of the moment in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. The post (shown below, left) received more than 21,000 points (92% upvoted) and 3,200 comments in less than 24 hours.
The /r/MemeEconomy template inspired numerous variations. The following day, Redditor[4] ButtermilkFaggot published a version (shown below, center) in the /r/dankmemes subreddit that received more than 3,000 points (96% upvoted) in less than 24 hours. Additionally, Redditor[5] memesareprettydope published a version (shown below, right) that received more than 3,500 points (97% upvoted) in 24 hours.
