You're a Good Kisser, Parker refers to a series of exploitable image macro memes based on a meme combining elements of two scenes from Spider-Man: Far From Home, one in which Peter Parker kisses MJ and one in which Mysterio uses illusions to fight Parker. The meme was originally posted online in July 2023 and became the subject of photoshops and redraws over the next year.
Origin
On July 5th, 2023, Redditor u/LukeD1992 posted a meme to the subreddit /r/marvelmemes[1] in which Peter Parker, dressed in his Spider-Man suit without the mask, kisses MJ on a destroyed bridge after a battle. She pulls back and says, "You're a good kisser, Parker. But also so…" and then transforms into Mysterio and says, "gullible," leaving Parker shocked. The post garnered over 28,000 upvotes in a year (shown below).
The meme has a watermark for the Facebook[2] page Pérolas do Homem-Aranha, suggesting it may have been made by the account, although it is unknown when they originally posted it or if it's since been removed.
Spread
The meme gained viral spread throughout 2023 and 2024 as new examples were shared online. On July 6th, 2023, X[3] / Twitter user @DarkLightFury21 reposted it, garnering over 52,000 likes and 4,500 reposts in a year. That day, X[4] user @SO0u0o quote-reposted the post writing, "Did he have to do that," garnering over 38,000 likes in a year.
On July 7th, X[5] user @GrubLug commented with an edit of the meme in which Mysterio calls Parker a "f----t," garnering over 8,000 likes in a year and becoming one of the most viral variants of the meme (shown below). The original meme was reposted to Reddit[6][7] several more times that year.
On September 2nd, 2023, X[8] user @carrot_andlemon posted a redraw of the meme referencing the web series Bugbo, garnering over 1,700 likes in 10 months.
On May 5th, 2024, X[9] user @hypotebug posted a redraw of the meme referencing a scene from Disco Elysium, garnering over 8,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On June 6th, X[10] user @Swag_K1RBY posted a version of the meme that gained over 10,000 likes in a month (shown below, right).
