European Heat Wave Rapidly Becomes Source Of Scorching Hot Memes Amid Rising Temperatures

Despite geographically living more north than most of America, much of Europe actually has the potential to get quite hot.

This can be seen in the current heat wave that is sweeping the continent, leading to temperatures as high as 40 degrees Celsius to be recorded for the first time in history in many places. In Fahrenheit, 40 Celsius translates to roughly 104 degrees.

Because of the ongoing heat wave, many memes have begun to pop up online about how people in places like London and the U.K. are not usually accustomed to it. Additionally, many of Europe's older buildings weren't built with a centralized A/C unit or simply never need one, meaning hundreds of thousands to millions do not have a way to cool off besides smaller compact air units.

Others in parts of Europe took the opportunity to make memes about how to best take advantage of the heat, such as using it to cook food while on a nice little drive around town or about how they can't wait to finally die off from the heat.

Some Americans, noticing the complaints from Europeans, took it upon themselves to talk about how the heat "really isn't that bad" compared to the average temperature of American cities during the summer, completely missing the point that most American cities were built with A/C in mind, as opposed to the much older, typically cooler European ones.
