It's no secret that the folks over at Xbox are fairly well-versed in the ways of memes, but when Microsoft sent out real-world versions of their upcoming Xbox Series X console as a fridge, it felt a bit surreal.
Over the weekend, both Snoop Dogg and YouTuber iJustine each received a massive Xbox-adorned crate as part of the brand ramping up for the release of its next-gen console. Inside the crate was a fully functional fridge ripped straight from the Xbox Series X parodies that hit the net shortly after its design was revealed in late 2019 — essentially turning memes from dreams into reality.
Almost immediately after its unveiling, the new Xbox was memed in a multitude of ways, especially for its uncanny likeness to a fridge (just look at two of the most popular parodies below).
Snoop appeared to be the first to receive his XSX fridge last Friday, which was also his birthday, sharing a video online of the device fully stocked with an Xbox-shaped cake, Xbox-branded jewelry and, of course, a plethora of gin and juice. Although the clip was deleted from his Instagram shortly after, it was reshared online by other users later that night. A big fan of various sports games, Snoop ended the video with a quick "it's in the game" after giving us a tour.

Not long after Snoop received his special bday gift, Microsoft also sent iJustine a crate containing her very own Xbox fridge, which she showed off in detail, revealing the appliance's custom green lights, boot sound effects that mimic the real console, slots for the inputs and outputs, a mesh top with green underneath and other various features.

In the YouTube video posted to her channel, Justine also mentioned that there's another Xbox fridge up for grabs to a potential prize winner, meaning these meme-inspired appliances aren't just for celebrities and internet personalities. According to the General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg, the device is the “world's most powerful fridge.”
You can check out the full video below and witness when memes become reality for yourself. We're sure it would fit tons of Mountain Dew in it … but good luck getting one.
