And a result of his fake outrage over them, Disney decided to FIRE James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 In case you're not familiar with Mike Cernovic, he was an instrumental part of Gamer Gate. He gave legal advice to Fred Brennan (owner of 8chan, an actual child p--- site with tips on abduction and grooming) He is an alt-right-wing blogger who causes no small amount of trouble wherever he goes. He is not someone you should trust with a 10 foot pole And while the old tweets dug up WERE offensive... James Gunn had apologized for them and he has grown since he made the jokes. I do not condone the tweets, but I don't believe the James Gunn we have now is the same person and should not have his entire career go up in flames over them And speaking as someone who's had their twitter account suspended and deleted for calling out the President, make no mistake here... this is weaponized outrage. Mike and co. are using the left's morality compass to their advantage to get their way. By letting Mike win, this just emboldens them to get OTHER people they don't like fired James Gunn was one of the few directors who was very much against Gamer Gate and many of the alt-right. This was a tactical surgical strike against him. He called them out on their b-------, and so they struck back... and now Disney is putting the fate of their multi-million-dollar film franchise in jeopardy because someone there can't GOOGLE what Mike Cernovic actually IS unless I do it T'S OUR

Author has 304 answers and 740.1K answer views. 5y Not that I care that much either way, but it did expose a lot of corrupt game developers and game journalists. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
