His biological father is Greg and his "geological mother" is Rose Quartz, a Crystal Gem who gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven.^[1] This led to the theory that by having sex with Rose, Greg essentially murdered her, hence the nickname "Murdercock." While the first reference to Greg as a "Murdercock" is unknown, comments using the term date back as early as April 2015 on Funnyjunk.^[2]
