Mother of god… is a Rage face / reaction image used in Rage Comics that depicts a man removing his sunglasses from his head with staring eyes. It is associated with surprise, shock and astonishment.
When used in 4panes, the first panel is usually of a sun-glasses wearing stick-figure humming whist walking to keep in the continuity of the character removing said sun-glasses.
Origin
The rage face originally came from a panel of a KC Green comic titled Euclids on the Block, a comic about the famous Greek mathematician. The comic was first posted on his Livejournal sometime around August 2008, and was then included on his site in his series of Blog Comix aka Blomix.[1] KC Green is also aware that his comic has been adapted into this meme[2].
