Even the cringiest person has a place to express their feelings on TikTok. The consequence is, however, that sometimes a silly or wholesome video can go viral on the platform, bursting outside your bubble and reaching unknown territories that might not understand what is happening. Such is the case of the creator @liliannawilde, who just wanted to share a cute couple's lifestyle content, but ended up alienating the internet by posting about their cringe "love surge" ritual.

Here's what you need to know (or don't) about the "Love Surge" trend that's taking over TikTok.

What Is The 'Love Surge' Expression?

Love Surge is a term created by Lilianna Wilde to express a couple's interaction where one of the partners "has so much love in our limbs that we can't contain it and we feel like we're gonna explode," she explained in a video (shown below) posted on August 15th, 2023.

@liliannawilde i’m so sorry we are like this lol but we can’t help it 😭♥️✨ @Sean Kolar #marriagehumor #marriagecomedy #husbandwife #husbandwifecomedy #husbandsoftiktok #couplecomedy #couple #husband #wife #couplestiktok ♬ when you love someone so much you cant contain it – Lilianna Wilde

Liliana, who goes by @liliannawilde on TikTok, is completely aware in her video that what she and her partner are doing is considered cringe by many people online. That didn't stop her from posting the video, which quickly amassed over 3.2 million plays and 83,000 likes in a month.

How Is The 'Love Surge' Expressin Used In Memes?
