Every once in a while, TikTok feeds everywhere are taken over by an inappropriate trend that blatantly breaks the app's terms of service, shocking users.

Right now, that trend is the "White Shampoo Trend," which has users posting very explicit videos that misrepresent a certain substance as "white shampoo."

So, who started the "White Shampoo Trend," and what exactly is it? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The 'White Shampoo' Trend?

The White Shampoo Trend seems to have started in mid-June 2025. The earliest known example of the trend was purportedly posted and deleted by TikToker @okkkkokot on or around June 17th.

On that day, the user uploaded a video of a man in a public washroom captioned, "Back when this security guard bought white shampoo, went to the bathrooms and tried it! It was so good."

While the caption claims that the video is about a man "trying white shampoo," it is actually a video of a man bringing himself to climax that has been cropped just above his private area. The "white shampoo" shown is not white shampoo at all, but his "emission." It's unclear how many views the video got before it was deleted.

How Is 'White Shampoo' Used In Memes?

The first video subsequently inspired the White Shampoo Trend, in which similarly cropped videos of men climaxing are posted on the app.

Many of the videos crop out the man's private area entirely, while others still show a small portion peaking into frame.

Examples of the trend tend to feature captions about white shampoo, or are posted under the hashtag "#WhiteShampoo."

Understandably, many TikTokers are shocked about the trend. TikTok's terms of service do not allow content like this on the app and many are wondering how it hasn't been banned yet.
