What's The 'Triangle Factory' And 'I Guess We Doin Circles Now' Meme? The Viral 'Blue Circle' Meme Explained

A webcomic has gone viral on Twitter / X about workers at a "triangle factory" working on an assembly line. Its iconic second line, "I guess we doin' circles now" pokes at the heart of this meme about blue circles, red triangles and dissatisfied employees.

This exploitable meme is spreading fast. People want to know the triangle factory's lore as others are trying to build the zany universe. There are all kinds of shapes coming down the conveyor belt now, including green squares (what?). This seemingly nonsensical trend oddly says a lot about workplace drama and relationships.

So, who created the original triangle factory meme? Where did "I guess we doin' circles now" come from and what do the blue circle memes mean? Let's explain.

What's The Original 'I Guess We Doin Circles Now' Meme?

On Friday, Twitter / X user @MeatMarket__ shared a two-panel MS Paint webcomic showing two different "triangle factory" workers reacting to a blue circle coming out of the machine.

One is curious about the circle, talking to themselves, "A circle?? in the triangle factory?? how queer!! I've never seen such a thing — I must inquire about this further with my supervisor post-haste!!"

The other is unphased, portraying a detachment to change akin to many people working nine-to-five jobs. The character instead says, "I guess we doin circles now."

How Is The 'I Guess We Doin Circles Now' Meme Evolving?

The original comic racked up more than 200,000 likes over the weekend, resulting in viral remixes of the simple format. Meme creators and artists on X have expanded the factory's lore, adding new characters like the boss, or new shapes like green squares, likened to be other now-commonplace factory rejects.

Fan art and redraws of the original characters are also surfacing. Fandoms are imagining what characters from their favorite subculture would fit into each archetype.

At the moment, webcomics are having a bit of a meme resurgence online. The recently viral rise of Fallenchungus is a solid example, who took the internet by storm with his "Bro visited his friend" comic.

Webcomics have always been easy to re-edit with their simple colors and lines. The Triangle Factory is now adding to this lineage.

management says we have to start making circles but we only have a trianglemaker yeah, i dunno
