See The Winner Of September 2024's Meme Of The Month!
And the meme of September 2024 goes to …
With quite a sizable lead and over 25 percent of total votes it's the much-memed "I am Steve" shot from the Minecraft movie teaser trailer that snags the top spot for itself and becomes the top meme of September 2024. Jack Black Steve had been photoshopped, redrawn, cast doubt on and theory-crafted as Herobrine, edited into a thousand TikToks and generally memed in every imaginable way for a good part of the month. Good on ya, "Steve."
Moo-Deng the Baby Hippo
In the second place this month we have the baby hippo Moo-Deng that has earned universal love for herself in the span of mere days with her adorable expressions and levels of cuteness previously thought impossible for a hippo to have. There is hardly anyone on the internet who hasn't seen at least one picture or video of the newborn inhabitant of Thailand zoo being sprayed by water, frolicking around her enclosure, or being lifted up by her caretaker while making an expression of horror that scream queens can only dream of. Thanks for setting the mood for the month, Moo-Deng, we and 16 percent of votes totally appreciated that.
Nikocado Avocado's Weight Loss
Remember Nikocado Avocado? This is him now, right there in the third place on our monthly poll, enjoying 15 percent of your votes. The one who has always been two steps ahead of everybody else and was toootally one hundred percent in on the joke all this time, mukbang streamer Nikocado Avocado has surprised everyone with his astonishing weight loss which he achieved in secret, all while posting his pre-recorded videos to throw everybody off. Memes aside, congratulations to Mr. Avocado on his achievement.
Diddy's Arrest
One of the bigger topic this past month were Diddy's charges of sexual harassment, sexual assault, trafficking of minors… the list goes on. Accusations against the rapper Sean Combs, now commonly referred to as The Diddler, first came to light in November 2023, and after more and more people told their stories, the rapper was arrested and charged in September 2024. Details against the major case soon surfaced, including Diddys' "freak-off" parties and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant found in his Miami house. The situation was horrible, the memes were hilarious, and the case against Diddy gets fourth place with just over 10 percent of total votes.
Those Who Know 💀
Wrapping up our top five memes for this month are those who know 💀, a 2024 off-shoot of the Traumatized Mr. Incredible meme reborn on TikTok. The IYKYK format has been used as a caption for images referencing infamous memes and moments in media before developing further into a recaption format. Those who voted for the format managed to gather nearly 7 percent of total votes for their favorite.
