DJ Peaches or Princess Peach Techno Rave refers to a series of AI-generated images featuring Princess Peach as a DJ in a techno party playing to a crowd of zombies and other Super Mario characters are on the floor dancing. The images went viral in mid-September 2024 on Instagram, later being used as a reaction image on X, former Twitter, by people tweeting about their music taste.

Origin

On August 9th, 2024, AI artist and Instagram^[1] user @memoryloot posted a series of AI-generated images representing Super Mario's Princess Peach as "DJ Peaches" in a zombie-filled techno party. The post (seen below) amassed roughly 300,000 likes and 703 comments in a month.

Spread

Over a month after the AI image depicting DJ Peaches was posted, some X users started to share the image as a reaction to tweeting about their music taste or relating to the unusual scenario Princess Peach was portrayed. For example, on September 18th, 2024, X^[2] user @dxckiii posted DJ Peaches image along with the caption "NYC this weekend." The post (seen below) amassed more than 300 likes and 4 reposts in three days.

YouTube^[3] user @wuhwoh added DJ Peaches as a still image from a Charli XCX Brat remix video (seen below), which received roughly 18 views and a 1 like since posted on September 19th, 2024.

On August 13th, 2024, TikTok^[4] user @manifestfrequencyy posted a collection of the DJ Peaches AI images with the overlay text "POV: You DJ," amassing more than 712 plays and 29 likes in a month.
