Was I the only one thinking of scoutaloo when i saw Daring Doo?
They just look so similar, If it weren't for the tail and eye color I could say to Daring Doo is a group version of Scoutaloo, I Mean even THE NAMES are similar.

Finally! A rainbow dash episode where I actually like her. She was pretty adorable in this episode. Best line was " Rainbow dash, what in the world is going on? Why are you stealing slippers? It makes me laugh every time.

Wow, post rate is unusually slow right now, especially considering we got a new episode today (and a good one at that).

Anyways, I know I usually try to initiate a SynchTube on Saturday nights, but I'm gonna give it a miss today. I've had quite a busy week, and my number one priority right now is getting some a lot of sleep. Hopefully I'll be in a better state by next weekend.

Here's a question guys: Do you think Derring-Do might be related to Ditzy Do? What about Mare-Do-Well? Perhaps the Do family produces a lot of notable ponies.

Not bad. I can't say too much since I'm no artist, but it doesn't have to be in the pure FiM style anymore. We relate to the characters enough so that slight changes won't affect it.

In my first headcanon (meaning the story of my OC in my head) I had a dynamic cutie mark depending on how I felt that day. But I don't talk about that because Gigatoast will track me down and murder me.

The dynamic thing would kinda be liek Cetno (or whatever that OC is called), just plain strange.

Well, the whole dynamic cutie mark thing would have to be from a genetic defect or an outside influence. I say it's possible, but there needs to be somekind of explaination for something that uncommon. Rads, virus, DNA copied wrong, take your pick. Any reason, as long as it makes sense.
As for the comic, am I a bad person for thinking and considering the thoughts that they imply?

Mutation would make sense as DNA is screwed up. Even small-scale mutation could do something like that.

Its like if 5% or more of your DNA is mutated u will not see a differance on the outside, however a blood test, etc will show this. DNA mutation at 5% wouldn't do much damage to hurt the organs, but could change cutie mark

Can cutie marks change? I don't know. I'd say that is a matter of whether you'd like to focus on the fact that anyone can change their destiny or you'd like to focus on the fact that everyone is good at something.
 
Personally, I think that some people are good at a lot of things, and that some people aren't particularly good at anything (but that doesn't take away from their worth. Skill and ability isn't everything people should value.)

I'd also say that everyone can't change their "destiny" or at least so easily. Sometimes, situations make it so that people are forced into a certain way of life. No matter how much that person wants to be something else, they may only be able to have a few lifestyles.
 
But that's mostly my cynicism talking. I'd say that cutie marks were created as a way to show that everyone has a special talent and that they can do something. I think the concept of cutie marks intertwined the concept of who you are and what you can do. I don't agree with mixing the two, but hey, it's a kid's show. It's not a terrible message.

But I'd say that if the two (purpose and ability) are tied, then no, cutie marks will not change. However, I don't think that the ponies in the universe have many problems with taking up an occupation that involves their special talent, because they all seem to like what they're good at.

Some ponies (like Pinkie Pie and Rarity) could just find jobs that kinda involve their talent but isn't exactly that (party planner and miner, respectively.)
 
 
Also, a pony gets their cutie mark once they find out what they're good at/meant to do. If it's just one talent over all of the others, then they would only find one.

I think it would make an awesome concept for an episode where someone who gets tired of what they're currently doing and decides to do something else, but I don't think that can be easily wrapped into one episode (since DHX has said that any one episode must be able to be watched and understood by themselves.)

@Verb – I totally ignored the fact that the cutie mark was destiny. I fail. I looked at genetics and DNA and figured if say, radiation had enough power to screw it up, it could potentially screw up cutie mark. Again, I forgot that its destiny. Never mind what I said about mutation

I don't believe that a cutie mark could change after a pony has acquired it. As Verbose pointed out, cutie marks are the exact representation of a pony's ability that makes him/her different from all others. That doesn't exactly mean that somepony can't get tired of it's special abillity, learn something different and even become exceptionally good at it, but that thing wouldn't be what makes that pony special in the first place, and destiny or not, he/she would feel deep inside that it's not what they really want and would hate it. Like IRL people that discover being good at something, but for infinite reasons can't turn that thing a hobby or a way of living, and end up becoming rather depressed with a life they feel is not what fit for them.

To answer this question, first of all I thought it was 'Daring Do'?

Who else has been spelling the name that way? Some people all have been using two O's in the last name. Which one is correct?

Anyway, you are assuming that Daring Do is a non-fiction character. I didn't get that impression, since Indiana Jones is not a real person, thus I have no reason to think Daring Do is a Canon Pony outside of Twilights book collection. Therefor no lineage to anything

Even if she was non-fiction, Ditzy Doo is unlikely to be related as that is an unofficial name

Mare-Do-Well is just a nickname with no lineage.

Once again the show managed to get a LOL out of me. Namely that barking crazy pony "Hey you! Get back in the hospital!"

And I can see how people can draw tons of parallels between RD's situation and Brony'ism. Many people saw the connection right from the Synopsis and the episode itself didn't disappoint.

Come to think of it, you can draw lots of different meanings from the episode.

It's message was gloriously simple in a way because it can be used to support many things: Not just book reading but also personal differences, hobbies, trying new things, not making mountains of molehills etc.

Lastly one last reference you guys here didn't point out: Pinkie apparently made a Power Ranger reference at the beginning of the episode

@Cutie mark discussion

It could go either way. The writers make up the rules about cutie marks, and so far they have implied that once you get it, you are stuck with it. But the nature of how a cutie mark forms also make it plausible for a cutie mark to be removed. I.E: It appears magically based on a skill you learn, but skills can change…also magic.

The writers can make it flexible if they really want to. So I leave that question up in the air for the writers to sort out.

Ima drop bye and say night all I came back and I meet the guy from TAPS on ghost hunters along with a combustible lemon from Portal and a health kit from Left 4 Dead along with FREE PEELEZ!!! With the kit too, also I see some good cosplays however the convention was not as big as I thought it would be but it was still good.

As for gramatical mistakes: only one. On the question of the lewst fav mane 6, it should be "I don't have a least fav" instead of "I don't have a fav".
Improvements: the fav secondary character section could be a little neater. I'd further narrow it down to a tricendary character question, eliminating some of the haphazardness.

For Pyro if he didn't see it in the image gallery yet.
Also, I didn't make it I just found it, I didn't upload it either, go look in the gallery.

One problem I saw was: "Who is your least favorite of the mane six?" The last option is "I have no favorite." It should be "I have no least favorite" or something like that.

Valentine's Day episode is coming up. Don't wanna spoil it anymore than that (even though most people know about it.) I guess there'll be Scootaloo. And there'll be Big McIntosh, so that's cool. But…Cheerilee is such a perfect teacher. I wonder if they'll give her some more attributes like being Fluttershy-kinda shy but only with men or something.
