Hmmmm…… While I have to point out your Glyphs can take on full advantage via Dust. But even without Dust you can do few nice things…. I need to think…….

Why, yes, Ozpin would have needed Dust to be able to maximise his potential when fighting, although quite a lot of semblances seem to be able to get affected by Dust (Remember how Blake was able to use it too?). As an incredibly old man, and thus an incredibly experienced man, he should be able to use his Semblance without Dust way better than I could with Dust.

However, Ozpin has never been the type to walk around with a full arsenal. His first thought when Ironwood sent his ships in? "Having those there will scare the civilians!"

If Ozpin was walking around with an obvious weapon packed full of Dust to make full use of his powers, people wouldn't think they were safe. They would be thinking about why they need him to walk around fully armed, and thus they would be scared of whatever may attack (That's his point of view, at least)

Now, if he wanted to look like a kind, harmless headmaster, a simple cane should do him. After all, he's supposedly a somewhat old man who prefers not to fight; why would he ever need a weapon? This way, he can take out most attackers with just his cane, since I assume most people aren't on par with the Fall Maiden.

Although I'm more likely to believe Salem is my ancestor then Ozpin, but I added the second part just because it popped into my mind

Why do you want be a descendant of the absoulute evil?!

Isn't it obvious?

The angst! I shall find out my family was descended from evil, become depressed and then I shall become the edgiest character on the show, and I shall finally be able to defeat the Edgelord Adam!

Also, everyone else has a villain connected to them in some way: Yang-Neo (and possibly Raven, depending on if she's evil or not), Blake-Adam and Ruby-Cinder, since she had to watch her kill Pyrrha in front of her (Plus there's the whole "Summer was the original maiden" thing)

I want to be connected to a villain too! And no, my father or the White Fang lieutenant don't count!

Maybe Mercury is a suitable opponent. That is, of course.

Look, I'm just going to be honest here. I'm terrified of volume 4 because I know it's going to ruin my headcanon that Mistral is Canada.

And I'm terrified of Volume 4 in case my father turns out to be a decent person

Penny wrote:

Weird…. my headcanon is Mistral is Australia!

F*CK YEAH, AUSTRALIA!

I mean, uh… it depends on how many poisonous Grimm are in it, I guess.

But honestly, I always thought Mistral was pretty much just France.

Can't we just consider it a hybrid? Aka: The people are like the French. The weather is like Russia. And the wildlife is like Australia.

……..No wonder Pyrrha left.

Nah, that's Atlas. It's also a snowy USA, a combo…. and oh! Nazi Germany.

Pyrrha left in order to find a man for the Harvest Sacrifices. You see, whenever Mistral is having a bad crop, they sacrifice a man to their gods, usually by burning him alive in a giant Wicker Man.

Finding a way to have him deck someone while in an Ursa costume is encouraged, but not required.

I see what you did there you smug! Also "NOT THE BUMBLEBEES!"

Come to think of it, actually, Ironwood did say he would have "Had Qrow shot" if he was one of his soldiers. Nazi Germany might be a pretty close approximation, although I assume that we aren't gassing the Faunus… yet.

I just need to convert the rest of my team over to my side and we can begin…

Well, time to be a nice person and hide 50,000 faunuses inside a mountain.

Boards up his shop's windows closed

I hope this war blows over by the time I die sitting on this chair with my Jet-Propelled Harpoon Sword beside me.

Is there any fandom that DOESN'T have Nazi fan-art?

Lovecraft Femme!Nebu wrote:

Hears screams of Atlesian Soldiers shooting Faunuses outside my shop

Now, is not the time yet…

Funny, but I can actually see something like that happen…… Oh poor Neon, my waifu! Why you have to be an Atlesian?

Nah! I think she will pop-up mid volume, like finally talking and her first line will be "My name is Neo Politan and you killed my father. Prepare to die!" I would laugh if that happen!

Now this is a grief scene that I want to see. How is the mute psycho going to deal with losing her father figure, possibly the only person that ever loved her?
I kinda want her to become this wild card in the grand scheme of things. No longer with the villains but not a hero ether.

She may as well take some cues from Roman, including getting a rocket cane, and (try to) hunt down Ruby for revenge.

I personally like to think that Neo repeatedly tries to take revenge on Ruby. But her attempts become increasingly more pathetic. Eventually, she gets so irrelevant that Ruby and Co don't even remember who she is anymore.

That's pretty stupid. Neo isn't somekind of a goofy cartoon character like Tom or Coyote. She's quick, efficient and deadly. Besides despite made by the same guys who are responsible for Red vs Blue, doesn't mean it's going to be like that. RWBY is a bit more serious and I don't think they are going to turn one of the villians, who almost killed a protagonist, into a joke.

I could kind of see it happening, just a lot more tragically and less comedically.

The first time Neo sees Ruby again, she's acting in control and has an elaborate plan to kill her. When she manages to escape, Neo ends up trying again and again, getting increasingly desperate, trying anything she can to get revenge. Eventually, after a volume or two, they get into another fight but it becomes clear that Ruby has surpassed Neo in skill causing her to just break down crying, unable to handle the fact that she lost her most precious person and she can't even avenge his death.

This would be in stark contrast to her first fight, where she was in control and gleeful the entire time. It might be a good way to give her a bit of a character arc, rather than just leaving her as the mysterious villain the entire time (I mean, the mysterious villain is great, but it might be difficult to keep her character fresh in the long run)

It could also be used as a warning to Jaune about how pathetic he will become if he keeps on thinking of only avenging Pyrrha or something.

Yeah that seems cool. What I don't want is the typical Looney Toons villian. That would be a character killer. I would prefer the "she always end up fighting Ruby but has to flee at end for various reasons", instead of a "trying to set up a trap all the time" story.

I get that. But i think having her slowly but certainly turn into a joke is a good way to show how far the characters have come. Plus, the most likely alternative is her dying while trying to get revenge.

Yeah. I like that idea. Altough i would argue you should play it for comedy for a while, only so that its even more surprising for the audience when it suddenly goes tragic.

Sssshhsshs! Don't ruin my fun! Besides, I was just quite giggling over the fact the Great War broke out cause the tyrannt Queens and Kings tried to control the people by depriving them from their freedom of self-expression (and probably freedom itself). Sounds like one of those elaborate plans the Templars come up with always. Second is that Ozpin has a Brotherhood which tries to keep up the peace and Freedom. Brotherhood of the Assassins Hunters or Maidens.

Well you can kind of see where they were coming from. If the Grimm are attracted to negative emotions, what better way to solve the issue than to get rid of emotions? Perhaps they weren't evil, but were actually trying to keep everyone safe in all the wrong ways.

Fortunately, most people were pretty pissed off at their freedom being taken away, thus causing the war.

Since Miles and Kerry are slowly shedding away RWBY's comedy volume-by-volume and/or episode by episode, I don't think Neo would turn into a joke. Besides, refining on my idea, Neo may mostly move on from losing Roman, but she won't forget Ruby taking her away from her love. So she would occasionally try to kill Ruby like it's freaking Hunter season, but she may want to come up with a clear and good plan and refine her fighting skills first before facing her off. Oh, and she might mod her umbrella into a rocket launcher one that can also switch to its original form.

I don't mean a literal joke. More a metaphorical "The heroes can defeat her without even trying anymore" kind of joke. Deliberate villain decay to show how much the main characters have improved over the course of the story.

I know, but I think villain decay can still happen, despite not mentioning it positively, though it may be in reduced and delayed form due to the fact that Neo would continue to train and try to overcome problems she stumbled into during her last fights.

Anyhow, I think Volume 4 is shaping up to be a promising season, since the trailer and character designs look good so far, but we still aren't sure on how good the episodes will be on release.

So far every season has been a very VERY big improvement on the last one. Volume 3 more or less looks like something that you could actualy air on television now. So i doubt volume 4 is going to be quite the step up Volume 3 was.

If the trend of each volume being a big improvement to the last one is true, then Volume 5 would see a change of animation software to Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate from Maya, visuals similar to that of a big-budget cel-shaded CGI anime's, fight scenes that surpasses Monty's (which may be very difficult to pull off), Emmy-worthy performances and writing, etc. But still, I'm curious about what Volume 4 will bring.
