@Sting

Firstly, know your worth. Look up the prices in metal for each item you have.

Secondly, find a trade server. People who come into competing scenes and just spam their backpack contents when they could be capturing control points are very annoying.

Thirdly, always double check what you are getting. Be very careful of scammers. I once bought a whole bunch of weapons thinking I could smelt them for more scrap…until I found out they were achievement items that couldn't be crafted. Uncraftable items are worth absolutely nothing, 0, zilch. Lesson: check item descriptions before you trade. Beware tricks like that and many more.

"Uncraftable items are worth absolutely nothing, 0, zilch."

Janissary Ketche
Brain Bucket
Dead Cone
Mask Of The Shaman
Hetman's Headpiece
Conjurer's Cowl
Lumbricus Lid

Sharpened Volcano Fragment
Vita Saw
Sun On A Stick
Cozy Camper
Nessie's Nine Iron

Do some price checking on those uncraftable items and then say that UC are worthless again.

Any one else getting bugs with the new update? (I play on my Macbook pro)

There's a pretty big bug with the new Quickfix that allows Medics to constantly heal themselves, it's like a bug the Amputator had when it was first released.

My backpack

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?! I haven't got more than 2 raw keys in my bp ;_; Any tips? I've done trading for +500 hours… No, please don't give me those tips like: "Buy low sell high" and other stuff. I want tips like: What should I buy? What should I sell?

Thank you.

It's featured.

Won't lock unless a mod does so.

To be fair I didn't remember this thread was featured or I would've redirected the other one the whole time.

Same here. Well, now it looks like we have (for now at least) a permanent place to talk about TF2; which is good.

Sunhammer wrote:

Anyone notice changes in the spawn room on some maps? Buncha string and photos and envelopes n shit on the cork boards.

Yeah, that's been up for about 2 months now if I'm remembering correctly. It's a clue to a future update; knowing Valve that's a guarantee. I've been trying to look for others as well as figure out what this one could mean.

Me, as of now

BSOD locked the other thread and redirected here I think

Well I'm sorry that I woke up a thread that is meant for a great game.

I wasn't angry; I was just surprised, that's all. I thought that this thread had been dead for quite some time.

I occasionally buy people's backpack with metal and keys, I could do the same for you if you want.

OK! good to have the old thread back. Anyways, for anyone still wanting to continue the [KYM] comp team, keep practicing. We can pick the team back up in the summer when everybody's not as busy. Keep calm and hat on, Researchers.

Two words: Valve Time.

Oh the famous Valve Time, yeah I could guess that. Maybe I should know this from the Teamfortress.com's last blog post. Anyway I have almost 100 crates (all of them normal Mann co. Supply crate) should I open them all or not?

Raw keys are more valuable, the odds of getting something good are very low. Keys just build value over time, unlike most Stranges, and some unusuals.

Penny wrote:

So I can open crates, but not all of them, right?

Of course, just check up on the TF2 wikia to see what your crate might contain. That way you'll know which ones you want to open

Elaboration: Even if you just have normal MannCo crates, they will be of different "series" ex: 78, 49, 68, and so on. On the TF2 wikia, go to the "crates" page, and you'll get a percentage sheet for each one on what items you could get and your precent chance at getting said item from that crate.

Umm dude, I'm a TF2 wikia contributor and editor, and also I made a list about my crates so yeah I know what I'm going to have.

Well….that was a bit of an oversight on my part…..

… Does anybody else think Pyro is a tad OP compared to the other classes? I don't think this question has been raised in this thread yet. But yeah I mean, he doesn't really have a weakness aside from a very few specific classes and weapons. He's the bane of spies, so backstabbing him is difficult (not impossible, of course,) and so is sniping him since he moves pretty fast and his play style requires a lot of movement to be effective, not to mention the flare gun is enough to disrupt sniper's aim. and to top it all of, he has this compression blast thing that can return rockets, grenades, mines, and many more back to sender! I mean, what the fudge man?

The only weaknesses I see is a Heavy with a Natascha (which isn't always a sure-win,) a demo-knight with a shield, and a level 3 sentry. I dunno but I really think his perks far outweigh his flaws.

Not really. When I play as Sniper, I easily sniping Pyros and when I play spy, I love to backstab them. So actually a player playing as sniper can kill pyros with good timing and precision. But if you trying to backstab them, you need to be more tricky since if you get close to them they gonna spy-check you but if you can get behind a busy pyro or a noob pyro, you can backstab them otherwise not. Other classes like heavy or scout easily kill them, the latter with it's speed and manouverability, while the eariler with it's firepower and with that fact the medics always follow him and healing him. The soldiers are can use their shotguns to kill those pyros which deflecting their rockets. So yeah they are not outweigh their flaws.

That and Slender Fortress 2, Parkour Fortress, Ultiduo, Dodgeball, Zombie Fortress, and once I tried out the Fortwars but it was meh. Also I love the TF2x10 (10x if you like this way) and I don't know why but I hate the randomizer.

My favorites are Stop that Tank and the custom MVM, one server has a tankapede.

I know many special game mods (contributor and editor of the official TF2 at your service) but I know nothing about that Stop That Tank. Could you tell me more about it.

It's payload but BLU team is replaced with robots and the bomb is replaced with a tank.BLU has to protect the tank and RED tries to destroy it. The tank regenerates after it crosses a check point.
If the tank is destroyed a player o BLU gets tuned into a giant robot and if they die the normal robots have to carry the bomb. So it's pretty much a Payload MvM hybrid.

Sounds not bad. If I get enough time, I'm going to check after and then create a page for it at the wiki.

Wiki! That's the word I forgot to write there.

And the bi-monthly comics delayed, strongbox (no they do nothing with the End of the line) who knows for why, and other mysterious events. What's going to happen?

Are my loadouts good or should I change them?

Scout: Baby Face Blaster , Strange Crit-a-Cola , Sandman
Soldier: Beggar's Bazooka , The righteous Bison , Disciplinary action
Pyro: Rainblower,Manmelter, Sharpened Volcano Fragment
Demoman: The Loch-n-Load, Chargin' Targe/Scottish Resistance , The Ultrapool Caber
Heavy: Brass Beast, Family Business , Ham Shank
Engineer: Frontier Justice, Pistol , Gunslinger/Jag
Medic: Crusader's Crossbow , Medi Gun , Übersaw
Sniper: Sydney Sleeper , Jarate, Bushwacka
Spy: The Enforcer , Spy-cicle , Cloak and Dagger

Sniper: Sydney Sleeper , Jarate, Bushwacka
Spy: The Enforcer , Spy-cicle , Cloak and Dagger

It's hard to say without knowing your playstyle, but here are some suggestions:

Scout seems good.
I'd use the shotgun over the Righteous Bison because of the larger clip size.
I'd use any other melee weapon over the Volcano Fragment because if you're close enough to melee, then you're close enough to just use the flamethrower.
Can't argue with the Demo loadout.
I don't use the Brass Beast because of its speed reduction and I prefer weapons with more specific utility like the Sandvich or GoRU for non-primary.
Gunslinger + Frontier Justice is a good combination, but there are better primaries to use when you have a normal 3 stage sentry.
Good on medic.
Good except everyone will get mad at your for being a piss sniper.
I think the Spy-cicle works best with the Dead Ringer, but that's just my opinion.

My loadouts are:

Scout: Soda Popper, Bonk! Atomic Punch, Candy Cane OR Strange Shortstop, Strange Mad Milk, Holy Mackerel
Soldier: Strange Black Box, Gunboats/Mantreads, Escape Plan
Pyro: Degreaser, Reserve Shooter, Postal Pummeler OR Strange Backburner, Shotgun/Flare Gun, Back Scratcher
Demoman: Strange Grenade Launcher, Strange Scottish Resistance, Conscientious Objector OR Demopan
Heavy: Strange Minigun, Sandvich, Gloves of Running Urgently
Engineer: Strange Rescue Ranger, Short Circuit/Wrangler, Strange Jag OR Frontier Justice, any, Gunslinger
Medic: Overdose, Strange Medi Gun, Vita-Saw
Sniper: Sydney Sleeper, Darwin's Danger Shield, Bushwacka
Spy: L'Etranger, Conniver's Kunai, Dead Ringer, Red-Tape Recorder

Hey @Caramel did I ever backstabbed you 'coz I use the Spy-cycle together with the Dead ringer (and it's work for me perfectly) however don't forget the Bonk! Atomic punch is a secondary weapon(?). And if you wish to use the Red-Tape recorder then I suggest it to you to use it together with the Diamondback 'coz the Red-Tape recorder is having a -100% reduced damage while the Diamondback is store a critical hit if you destroy a building with it. And don't mention that if you destroy the building and not letting the Red-Tape recorder to reverse it fully then you can prevent that an Engineer pick up the box (which remains there if you let it reverse the building fully and gives the Engineer 200 metal if he pick it up).

Being a pretty bad shot with the sniper rifle should balance it out.
