Your Main's Series gets a New Rep and a bunch of Extras as DLC!
Who is your Main?
Who is the New Rep?
Who is the Rep's Alt Skin (if applicable)?
Who is a New Assist Trophy?
What new Stage will be added to the game?
What new Item will be added?
What new Enemy will be added to Smash Run?
Mine is Ike.
The new Rep I would pick would be Nephenee due to the lack of Lancers in the game. Her Alt would be Aran or Donnel.
I would have Soren be included as an Assist Trophy. He would spawn in and start charging up spells like a Tales character. Starting with Wind and ending off with Rexcalibur. You will have to defend him while he is charging each of the 5 spells else he will dissapear; but the Ice Climbers Final Smash Teired Exploding Glacier will be a great payoff if you can defend him for that long.
The new stage would be the Tower of Guidance. It would be a moving stage that travels up and down the tower like an elevator, each floor with it's own stage hazard. Black Knight appears as a Boss.
New Item would be a Nihil Scroll, which temporarily would leave a Gardevoir like field around you that keeps B Moves from being used while the opponent is inside that field.
And the new enemy added to smash run would be a Laguz, who would become insanely resilient while transformed, but easily killable after the transformation wears off and you can attack his human form (Boss Tiered like a Darknut or Bonkers)

Let's see here…
-Pikachu (only main real men need)
-Grovyle, representing both Gen 3 of Pokemon and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Uses both Grass-type moves and PMD items in his attacks.
-Shiny Grovyle? I dunno. not a lot of potential for alts here.
-Pokemon doesn't have much potential for Assist Trophies since most of the potential Mons would appear from Poke Balls instead. The only thing I could think of for PMD would be maybe the Bittercold? As for a new Poke Ball pokemon instead, maybe something from a spinoff game, like Shadow Lugia.
-Temporal Tower: Halberd-esque stage that starts on the Rainbow Stoneship at the Hidden Land. The Stoneship eventually takes off and flies around the tower before docking at its pinnacle, where Primal Dialga appears as a hazard. Uses music from spinoff games such as Dialga's Fight to the Finish!
-Sleep Seed, a throwable item that causes any fighter hit to fall asleep. Causes longer sleep than other sleep-causing effects such as Sing.
-The Smash Run enemy would be an outlaw, a wild pokemon of varying species (furret, ekans, zigzagoon, etc.). When the outlaw appears, the outlaw encounter music plays as he attempts to escape. Defeating him causes him to drop a large amount of rewards.
@ Natsuru
My main is Donkey Kong.
The new rep would be King K. Rool, because this game sorely lacks villains as well as he could have an interesting play style with cannon balls from DKC, his blunderbuss from DKC2, his jetpack from DKC3, and his boxing gloves from DK64. For alts they could have Kaptain K. Rool from DKC2, Baron K. Roolenstein from DKC3, King Krusha K. Rool from DK64, and his Egyptian themed get up from Mario Super Sluggers.
For an assist trophy they could have Rambi, who acts a bit like Gogoat, except he actually charges and rams into other fighters.
For a new DK stage I would probably pick Krazy Kremland from Donkey Kong Country 2. It could be like a roller coaster stage, like Big Blue except with the skull carts instead of F-Zero racers, and could go through different areas of Krazy Kremland's level types of carnival, bramble, swamp, and beehive in a similar way of Star Fox's Lylat Cruise. If there was to be a boss character, it would more than likely be Kackle who can only be hit when he's not transparent and after he's defeated will summon a swarm of friendly Zingers to whomever it was that defeated him.
A new item I would add would probably be Chunky Kong's pineapple launcher which works like the cracker launcher from Brawl, but with pineapples.
The new enemy to Smash Run I would add would probably be Kutlass from Donkey Kong Country 2, and have him be a fast and strong character except when attacks and misses his cutlasses end up stuck in the ground leaving him vulnerable to damage which doesn't take that much as he has low health.
We're getting a Nintendo Direct tomorrow. We'll probably also get Duck Hunt Dog's trailer as well.

Sucks that Smash didn't get nominated for GOTY at The Games Awards. However, both versions are nominated for Best Fighting Game while the 3DS version is nominated for Best Mobile/Handheld Game. Damn shame they took out so many categories.

So I've been playing Smash U for the last few days. Is it just me or is it much harder than the 3DS version? On 3DS just yesterday, I was able to come close to finishing Classic mode on 9.0 with Captain Falcon, my main. But here? I got creamed on 5.5! I find myself losing track of my character much more often, especially on any of the fights with more than 4 characters. I just feel much more frustrated. And don't get me started on Smash Tour…
Now that said, I'm loving some of the new modes. The Special Orders modes are awesome, and getting a long string of victories in Crazy Orders, then pummeling Lefty into oblivion? Glorious. Attention to detail is staggering, and Wrecking Crew has become my new favorite stage in the series, with the other close contenders being Orbital Gate Assault and Coliseum.
And yet I'm struggling a lot and I can't figure out why. Needless to say, not doing any favors to my already-shaky self-esteem.

Reality continues to find ways to surprise me, despite my best efforts. In this case, I find it difficult to deny a greater plan.
I'm currently trying to collect all the Classic mode character trophies; I'm going through the list left to right, top to bottom. Peach was next on the list, so I played through as her. After level 5, I find that I am now the extremely proud owner of a Midna trophy. Needless to say, I was thrilled. So I go into my trophy gallery, buy two cheap trophies I didn't have in the store, and read the descriptions of my new trophies. And of course ogle my new treasure, which I now have on both versions.
Just as I'm about to finish ogling, I notice my trophy count while the cursor sits on my Midna trophy is 9/187. For some reason, this catches my eye, and on a whim, I decide to look up the numerological "definition" of the number 9.
Skipping down to the second to last paragraph starts the actual definition and not just the "fun facts." It goes on to talk about how it's supposed to be caring or whatever. On the next page, the first paragraph catches my eye.
"She walks like a queen, tall and statuesque, yet feels closely connected with the rest of mankind. At the same time, she is hard to reach, seems aloof and tends to float above the small-minded issues that can be so upsetting to others. You either love her or loathe her, but you can't deny her the respect she demands. She has impeccable taste, is talented and creative, and can be quite eloquent when she expresses herself. "
"Damn," I think, "That's a perfect description of her! What a coincidence!"
Except it kept going. For the rest of the article, it practically described Midna's personality word for word, both the good and bad. It was spooky.
I know lots of people don't believe in providence, but hot damn, if that isn't, it's an incredible coincidence.

Okay so keeping this thread alive and also venting:
I think Kirby is way more annoying in For Glory than Little Mac.
I've been mostly playing 4-Player Smash on For Glory, and I've been seeing a lot of Kirby. Here's the generic Kirby playstyle:
Option 1: Charge hammer and edge around the stage until you can hit someone easily
Option 2: Jump up high then try to down-special into people
Option 3: Use the up special on the ground every so often. Wouldn't want to get predictable now, would we~?
At least nearly all the Kirby players I run into in this mode follow these rules, and only these rules.
Now, I've practiced against Little Macs. If you can guard their attack then throw them off the stage (preferably followed up by an edge-guard like a side-air) then they're usually toast. These Kirby players, especially in 4-Player For Glory matches, are arguably harder to deal with while being just as (if not more) banal in their playstyles.
Kinda sad that I see so many bad Kirby players, since I think he's a pretty cool character.
Could be just me, though, I dunno.
Also, I've been expanding my pool of characters I can comfortably choose from just Bowser and Char. Now, I also like playing as Weegee, Zelda and Falco, although I'm not as efficient with them. And I wanna get better at using ROB and Lucario, too.

You're doing good. When playing in for glory mode you have to try to be as less predictable as possible, making even casual moves to not let the opponent figure out your pattern or if you're an expert or an amateur.

Mm. Kirby has some great throws, and IMO one of the best pummels in the game, so grabbing with Kirby is always good too.
Like, when I play with Bowser and I'm above the stage, it's almost instinct for me to use a DAir. But playing more For Glory, I've learned that doing it every time just means the opponents will anticipate your move and "read" it. CPUs can't just adapt to playstyles like humans, unless they're a well-trained, high-level Amiibo or something. Real people can learn your playstyle as you battle them and will dodge your silly Bowser DAir practically as you use it if you spam it and they'll charge a smash or something to punish your getup from it.
So yeah, you gotta keep 'em guessing. Like, if you're playing Kirby you could make them think that every time you're in the air above the stage that you'll Down-B, but then jump just a bit above a character, then fastfall as they roll to avoid your Down-B, then grab, pummel, down-throw for some easy damage. I guess the best option would be to make your playstyle completely ambiguous without sucking.
Of course, that'd work better in 1-on-1. In 4 Player For Glory matches, it's also wise to think about what moves can affect more than one person and such. And since you could be preoccupied with 2 other characters going straight for you, you might miss a Zelda charging her Down-B behind you, even if all that Zelda does is spam Down-B. That kinda thing is why spammy Kirby players were irking me in 4-Player For Glory matches.
But hey, what can ya do. I don't ever play Shulk, and when a Shulk kept over-using Back Slash in a 4-Player For Glory lobby every single match, I thought 'What the hell' and switch to swimwear Shulk and make a point by doing but nothing but Back Slash all next match. Since it's a 4-Player and Back Slash is powerful (albeit kinda slow) move that covers a lot of ground, I actually won that match, despite never playing Shulk and doing nothing but spam my Side-B. The other guy playing as Shulk left the lobby after that.
Holy frick!
A R.O.B. player just destroyed all my 3 mains. This was the first time that I played against a professional R.O.B. and I couldn't even approach properly. He spammed Robo-Beam and the Gyro to rack up damage and then KO'd me with the U-throw or the D-smash. I could at least KO him once in each match, but only when I already had my last stock and like 100%. I went down from a 90% win ratio to 88,86% in For Glory.
Any advices? I main Ludwig, Wario and King Dedede

Hm. I'm not very confident in playing as any of your mains… But I know a little about ROB.
Approaching ROB safely is all about jumping. Get close to him by jumping, and try to get him to use his laser or his gyro, then jump again to dodge it. The air is safe from those moves. His laser takes a few seconds to charge back up, and you can pick up a used Gyro and throw it back at ROB, and ROB can't summon another Gyro when a Gyro that ROB has thrown is still on the screen. (Holding onto his Gyro prevents him from spawning another, essentially.)
Don't go directly above him – his up-smash is a bit slow, yet it hits hard and can KO. Aim to land next to him and get in there with some attacks. If the ROB player is very focused on their projectiles, they might roll away from you – watch for it so that you can punish it. But that all depends on your ability to read your opponent.
His down smash isn't very strong, but it comes out super fast and covers the ground around him, making it a good KO move for a ROB to use when you're at 100% or more to punish your roll, or to use after he spot dodges your attack. If you're at a high percent, you might wanna hang back and spam projectiles, or approach with an aerial.
ROB's up-throw definitely is the best KO-ing up-throw in the game. ROB's an up-throw monster, especially if his rage effect is high. It's one of the meanest throws in the game, for sure. If he's about to up-throw you, be sure to hold down on the left stick to vector against the move and lessen your upwards knockback.
ROB's a tough character to knock offstage, for sure. But once you do get him launched offstage, then ROB's Up-B recovery move is his biggest weakness. It's slow and only lasts for a shortish while before it runs out of fuel, and you can knock him around while he's doing it. You have to aggressively edgeguard a ROB attempting to get back onto the stage with his Up-B so that the ROB's Up-B runs out of fuel and he falls to his death. Like, if I was using Charizard, I'd probably go for a jump or a fall off the stage above the ROB, use a DAir to spike him, then get back to the stage. So… maybe dropping Ludwig's hovercraft on a mid-Up-B ROB, for example, could be good? You know your mains better than me. Spiking and pushing a ROB further offstage with aerials is the best option, but almost impossible for characters with crappy aerial game like Mac.
Bear in mind that a good ROB player will probably know this weakness, and will be prepared to air dodge or something if you go in for the edgeguard too early.
And ROB's Up-B definitely isn't the worst in the game, too. Looking at you, Jiggs.
Yeah… Pro ROB players are scary. Sounds like you did good to not get 2-stocked. I did against a ROB I played against today…

Avid Smash Bros player here. I'll jump straight to point that my number 1 main is…Bowser. Yes I'll admit I get a little pompous sometimes, thinking that I'll win when I don't have the skills. I'm improving though. I just hesitate when picking Bowser sometimes. Whereas my number 2 main is Yoshi and 3 is Luigi.

I don't play For Glory mode that much, but if you were playing a regular match and not stuck in For Glory mode with only Omega Stages, you would want to counterpick to a stage with platforms like Battlefield which allows you to avoid R.O.B's projectiles easier. If you're having trouble approaching, try baiting the opponent into throwing out there projectiles. You can air dodge the Robo Beam and catch the Gyro with an air dodge triggered by the grab input. As long as R.O.B's Gyro remains in play, it cannot make another one, giving you an easier time to approach. Hopefully this helps out a little bit. I'm kind of a nut when it comes to competitive Smash.

You can't pick a stage with no platforms. For Glory has no items, no platforms, no tricks.

Hence why I said not in For Glory mode. But the options of baiting projectiles and catching the Gyro still stand as viable.

Oh.
Wait, if Peach was banned in For Glory for a while, why wasn't ROB?

Peach was banned in For Glory mode because there was glitch in coding where if she pulled out a Bob-omb, Mr. Saturn, or Beam Sword, the user would get banned for illegal use of items. This has been patched. R.O.B doesn't get banned since his item projectile is character specific to him.

I find Sonic an excellent main in this game.
I just got this game a week ago, and I can only describe Sonic as a nuclear chainsaw in good hands.
- Dash is absolutely excellent when you get used to the speed, allowing for quick escapes or unleashing massive combos
- Running Attack does modest damage and has stupid knockback; combine this with a well-timed forward jump attack, and it is a combo that can bring your foe from 0% to 25% in like, ten seconds. Awesome looking when you pull it off, and very practical. Plus, at higher damage percentages, it puts a lot of pressure on the opponent and the blocking window is very small.
- Has fourth best aerial recovery from what I have seen. Fox, Falco, and Diddy's recoveries outclass it, but it is still excellent. Spin Dash combined with Spring Jump and possibly Homing Attack more or less allows Sonic to recover from any off-platform situation.
- Up Air Attack has great knockback. Even at lower damage percentages, a well-timed spring jump combined with this can K.O. most characters. At higher damage percentages, it is even harder to survive if you're caught.
Disadvantages are apparent, as well.
- Very difficult to control without prior experience with 2d Sonic games, Brawl, or just plenty of practice.
- Easily launched even at lower damage percentages
- Final Smash takes a lot of practice to be used efficiently. But it is also potentially among the few, if not the only, unavoidable Final Smashes
- Combos have a very steep learning curve.
- Reliance on timing is a severe liability to combos.
And that's my Sonic analysis. Anyone got something to add?

My main is Pacman because he's both funny, strong, handable and has a good recovery move.
My second main is Wendy (I know it's Bowser Junior's but I use mostly that alt and occasionally Ludwig) because she's funny to use too and her attacks are enough unpredictable to put the surprise factor at my vantage.
Their final smashes are good also.
I main Rosalina, and I think she's very good overall and I like the character herself. My second would likely be Diddy Kong, who has great options and speed (especially that upsmash). After that, I'd say it's Lucina, R.O.B., and Mr. Game and Watch.

I'm proficient with all of the cast, but here are the characters I use the most:
Lucina: Outside of the fact that she is my waifu and is voiced by Laura Bailey, she has this familiarity to her where I can play her like Melee Marth with aggressive fighting and good spacing.
Captain Falcon: He's definitely better than Brawl Falcon, but not as good as the Melee incarnation, but I can make it work pretty well.
Peach: I've recently been able to use Peach in all games she's appeared in and she's pretty fun to use.
Robin: My style of Robin is aggressive rather than mid-range heavy like how my friend plays him. I'm very liberal with his tomes and levin sword. I usually intentionally waste Nosferatu so I can have a free projectile.
Kirby: Love using him across all games.
So anyone's thoughts on the Rayman leak? Personally I think it's real.

The design is slightly different from the original, as for all the characters in the game, but the level of detail is so incredible. Look at his fingers! Rather thand being round they are slightly square.
Either this real or someone spent a lot of time in a really well executed fake.

The leak looks convincing enough. It even has video footage for it. I'm not convinced though. I'm taking with a grain of salt.
Oh hey, Smash Bros thread in the forums. I found it.
I have never been in these forums before, btw.
I guess, hello?
