I'm so sad. I have platinum, I'm opted in to get emails, I EVEN DRANK 15 JELLYBEANS THROUGH A STRAW. And I didn't get a demo code… Today is a sad day for armerica.

Found out that charizard has a Zubat color and the "ridley" color seems to be based on crobat.

But seriously tho, i'm so fucking happy!

My brother qualified for the demo. My hype train got a bit slow due to the confirmed leaks and Japanese release, but after playing a few rounds I think it's going to start back up again.

I don't think they'd necessarily get into crossover alts in this game.

Still a little bummed that there wasn't a Wii U teaser at the end of the stream today, but it did show a lot of the game off, so I appreciate that.

The 7th color for zubat.

The 8th (or maybe 4th?) Color for crobat.

I'm confused bout 4th and 8th, they look so similar.

I'll have to say that, aside from the DLC that I know is going to inevitably come due to Namco-Bandai loving it so much, and the presence of Dr. Mario and Dark Pit as moveset clones instead of alternate costumes, I really think the roster is pretty great for this iteration of the game. I'm not necessarily so much as interested in the specific characters (though I really like Mega Man and Rosalina among others) so much as their movesets and what they bring to the table. This looks like it will be the most varied roster in this series to date.

I imagine that they'll show stuff related to the Wii U version at next week's Tokyo Game Show – anyone else agree?

After a meditation I think we have to thanks the fans for Dr. Mario being in the game. More specifically the fan that wanted back Mario without the F.L.U.D.D.
I'm actually picturing Sakurai torn between downgrade Mario and please them, or letting him as he was in Brawl and please the ones who actually liked him as he was.
Then at some point he has to have came to the conclusion:

And that's why we have again two Marios.

4th color is probably Nidoking
3rd color resembles Tyrannitar (Blue/green)
2nd is Charmeleon (?)
5th is definitely Dragonite

Man I'm glad they decided to go with actually different colors for Charizard and didn't just go "HURR shades of his original color!" Like they did with Pikachu again. Not even gonna bitch about there being no color representative of his shiny because I could see myself alternating between like 5 of those.

Have they found a Ridley trophey yet?

Nope, but they did find trophies of the Chorus Men, Dixie Kong, and Mewtwo.

I still think that, should they add DLC (which they will most likely do, out of pragmatism) and they add characters that they already made trophies for, they could always replace pre-existing trophies with others and use the previous models for the "official" trophies, if that makes sense.

It's missing a portion of the original song.
Is it because the stage changes from TTY to (I think) Sticker Star?

Yeah, it's just a part of the full song played on the Paper Mario stage as the stage cycles to 3 different parts. I'm just happy it can loop naturally like that.

Another rumor. It confirms the whole 11/21/14 release date rumor is true, and also posits the following:

- The 3DS/Wii U rumor character link is true. The "Final Four" that have previously been rumored through 4Chan, along with Impa.
- You can also transfer custom movesets and parts between versions.
- There are a total of forty new stages (counting the ones shared with the 3DS version) and 15 retro stages. Every series with a playable character has at least one new stage for it.
-"The big new mode is called “Tower of Smash”. It’s a 100-Floor Tower, with each floor containing three doors showing what character + stage. You choose a door, and fight a 1-on-1 single stock match against that character, with various rules in place. This includes slow/fast mode, one where you’re put at 300% and the opponent 0%, and one with all Pokeballs, just to name a few. In this mode, you pick four characters at the beginning (must be all different), and each one represents one life. You can switch before each battle, but when one dies, they’re gone for the rest of your Tower of Smash run. The more floors you consecutively beat, the better your rewards…if you lose all your lives, you can start from the 10th, 20th, 30th, etc. if you reached that far before. Unlike in All-Star, you’re healed between matches. The 9th, 19th, 29th, etc. floor is a special Boss Battle. These have you fight against special Boss characters, such as Dyna Blade and Mecha Dragon. There’s an unlockable Boss Rush mode as well, the room set up like the classic Mega Man Boss Rush Room, where you can challenge all the Bosses in a row."

The concept behind this "Tower Of Smash" sounds interesting, provided it's real.

3… 2… 1… GO!

Note Andre mentions in the comments that if you play as Little Mac with the hoodie, he'll still do the same animation, he just won't take off the hoodie.

And here some info on the supposed "secret characters"

Ridley: no wings on ground, when using Up-B grows them, and flies around, changing moves but becoming lighter. Other M design.
Chorus Men: control conductor, Chorus Men move in-front of him and can change their positioning. Like Rosa + Olimar
Dixie: mix between DK (ponytail helicopter, can carry foes when grabbing with ponytail, FS is guitar like Donkey Konga), and Diddy (similar normals and speed, banana toss)
Mewtwo: heavier than Melee version, and slightly larger. Final Smash has both MMX and MMY appear on the side of the screen and blast the foe. Not the female voice, or the Melee voice, just makes generic grunts
Impa: SS design. Mix between Sheik’s agility and Zelda’s magic.

I can't tell if i should believe this so far, for now, i'm just gonna stay neutral and wait n see what happens when the wii u version comes out.

Some thing I'm doing called Music Galore. While Sakurai will have samples of the songs posted on the official Youtube channel, I'll post five songs to keep the hype alive throughout September! I'll probably do it once or twice a week.

100 stages upside or 100 stages downside. It's a neverending classic. I like it! If the events are randomized it would be even better.

Invincibility frames. Tough to pull off, but fair and square.

Speaking of patches, I'm glad that they'll be implemented. It most likely will mean that tier stupidity will mostly be a thing of the past.

I have to admit… I do hope they input DLC's into the game. I mean, Playstation Allstars Battle Royale did it, why can't this game? That way, we can forgive them for leaving out Wolf, Lucas, and Ice Climbers, because they'll be DLC…… hopefully.

I'll admit, I gagged a little when you mentioned Playstation Allstars Battle Royale, but I think DLC would be forgivable for Smash.

Victory poses for our 51 characters in the 3DS.

And in other news, Smash 3DS has sold over 1 million units in Japan four days after release.

Sakurai did his bi-weekly Famitsu column and addresses the absence of the Ice Climbers. Source

First, regarding the roster, Sakurai mentioned that even though many characters are included, there are some who worry about those who didn’t make the cut. He specifically addresses the absence of the Ice Climbers as well. It seems they were running in the Wii U version, but due to the required hardware power, the team couldn’t make them work in the 3DS game. There wasn’t as high a priority given to series that are unlikely to have another installment at this time.
On the topic of different release dates for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS, Sakurai mentions that this was for debugging, which was necessary to avoid there being considerable differences between the two versions. If both games had a shared release date, a launch in 2015 may have occurred.
Finally, Sakurai shared a tidbit about the trophies in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 3DS. Akihiro Toda – known for the texts in the Mother series – wrote the descriptions.

Hopefully, the Ice Climbers can get a second chance by using the New Nintendo 3DS hardware. It was able to make Xenoblade Chronicles work.

Well, whoever got them, gonna enjoy the demo.

Might as well put my set to use. My friends and family already have the demo, so I'll share them here.

They better. I'll be legitimately pissed if IC don't make it into the Wii U version at least. I don't even main them. I hope the DLC isn't the same on the two versions either, cause that seriously still pisses me off.
