Have you noticed that most of the Mii costumes have the words "male" and "female" in their name? What does that mean? That the other gender counterpart will feature another character maybe? Like for example Tikal for Knuckles? I'm almost sure the second Mii wearing the Tails costume is a female but it could be a male with a female face.

Sakurai's interview concerning the three DLC Characters. To sum it up:

Cloud was picked because he was the most requested Final Fantasy character.

Corrin was picked because he wanted to include a character that is from a game that either came out recently or will come out in the future. Fire Emblem Fates' pretty much fits that, but even he thought that there would be too much Fire Emblem content. The staff convinced him to go for Corrin. (if I were to guess, maybe he was considering the Inklings since Splatoon fits the criteria too (it's an OR, not an AND)).

Bayonetta was picked as the ballot winner among negotiable characters. By negotiable, he means from the way Nintendo published Bayonetta 2. She was a challenge considering from her movepools to Smash Bros.'s rating (Japan has stricter rules on game ratings).

No other info on the ballot, other than the fact that almost 2 million votes were placed on it.

If the Inkling thing were to be true then it would be ironic seeing how Fire emblem Fates was outsold by Splatoon in japan. Also not surprised by the Bayonetta thing I did hypothesized that something was gonna keep her down but thankfully Sakurai and the team made her work.

So, it's been a while since I've played Sm4sh, but I did manage to download Bayo, Corrin, and the Umbra Clock Tower stage a little earlier. Just trying out these new characters, I felt so rusty. I guess the next time friends come over, I'll step my game up again.

I've mained Corrin and secondary-ed Bayonetta. These two are some of the funnest Smash characters to use ever. Corrin's Dragon Lunge is hilariously powerful and versatile, and his range is incredible. Bayonetta's combos are actually much easier for me to do that Ryu's, and as such, I've kicked quite a bit of ass while using her. Witch Time is also hard to use, but it's so fucking satisfying when you land it and use it right.

Here's just one of the things you can do as Bayonetta.

Alright, gonna bring this thread up to speed in preparation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

As of the final Direct before release, Ultimate will feature:
100+ stages
74 characters at launch with every fighter from past games returning
Battlefield forms for all stages
A Spirits Mode
A World of Light adventure mode
Revised online matchmaking
A Season Pass
Tons of music tracks
And more

The newcomers are Inkling, Ridley, Daisy, Dark Samus, Chrom, King K. Rool, Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, Isabelle, Ken Masters, Incineroar, and Piranha Plant.

I’ve personally found myself surprised by everything from its announcement to the reveals. Now I can at last rest until December. This is going to be a great game as expected from the series.

I found this Direct very amusing. It's like Sakura said, "We've worked so hard to make a game that would please as many people as possible and they're still complaining? Fine. Let's make the shittiest Direct ever. Replace trophies with glorified stickers. Add Incineroar instead of Decidueye. Make Shadow and Isaac Assist Trophies. Fuck, just put a Piranha Plant in it."

Seriously, though. Ultimate has a huge, wonderful roster filled with heavily-requested characters. It's fine for the last few to be anti-climactic. We should be satisfied, even if the last Direct was hilariously bad.

"You must do it!"
"I told you, I'm through with it! I don't want to run around in that piece of scrap metal anymore!"
"But you're the only one who can save us now, Bren!"
Bren slips into his Turrican Assault Suit.
"It's Turrican Time."
(cue the music)

THE 31ST CENTURY CHROMIDIUM WARRIOR IS READY TO KICK SOME ASS IN THE WORLD OF LIGHT

Actually, no he ain't.

(continues to cry for Bren to be in Smash)

I don't know why people let a single Leak get them so mad. The game's still the hype beast that added Simon and Trevor Belmont, King K Rool, and all the old cast back from the previous games.

People need to learn a very important lesson. You won't get everything, nobody can get everything, but you can get Some things, and then you can lord it over the other guys over them not having those things.

Is it just me or is Ultimate brutally difficult? At default settings, anything outside of basic matches leaves me with a stagnant win-loss ratio. Seriously, it's so stressful, I'm not having much fun. The AI's attacks seem super accurate, their defense borderline psychic. Normal difficulty shouldn't be making me want to tear holes in walls.

And don't even get me started on spirit battles.
