My favorite of all the palettes posted in the gallery. I'll most likely main Lucina just for this but my main main will still be Robin. I also love that Lucina's hair color changes to represent the female characters of Awakening. Despite being a full clone of Marth, they put effort on her color alts.

I remember making a comment suggesting that Lucina's palettes can be based off of her potential mothers and of the five she can have, only one made it and that was Sumia (#8). The other six either show up after Chrom gets married (#3, #5), can't support with Chrom at all (#2, #4, #7), or is Chrom's sister so they can't get married (#6).

A part in me wants to see color palette DLC becomes a thing in the future because Lucina has 16 more female characters to choose from. Will they do all of them? Absolutely not, but I hope some make it.

"This game will never have combos"

NOTE: This is against a level 9 cpu, while this may not sound impressive to some, CPUs are fucking brutal in this game compared to the older titles.

Even Melee?

Even melee.

Go find a streamer called shofu, he's fighting the CPUs at max and he aint having a easy time.

True Final Boss looks creepy as hell.

And Obligatory for it's Final Form:

EDIT:

Something to note, Sakurai has SPECIFICALLY said that something happens if you play on difficulty 7.5 or above. This means there might be a final final form to that boss instead of the 4 we already know of. (Titan, Beast, Sword, and Copy)

EDIT Again:

Final Character Selection Grid is most definetly 6×9, and Mii Icon ONLY appears if you have a Mii Prepped (which creates a sub-menu when you select it).

So there isn't a Final Five. More like a Final Four. This is provided the selection screen doesn't reformat again.

So I need clarification, does this mean that there aren't characters that weren't leaked after all?

People are saying that the leaked roster is final, but I doubt it – four spots are still open (the Mii Fighters take up one of the missing slots). So we aren't getting a Final Five of unseen characters in the base game, but we might be getting a Final Four. There's also the possibility of free DLC for the Final Four to come between the release of the 3DS game and the Wii U game, leaving the Wii U version with a more complete roster while the 3DS version will catch up in the interim. And then we'd be getting into paid DLC territory.

>Ridley

Nah mate #ChorusBoys4LifeJustNot4Smash

EDIT: confirmed through stream, ESRB was final roster. Who knows about DLC, wouldn't ride my hopes on it though, expect worse case scenario.

This also means Mewtoo, wolf, lucas, Dixe dong, chorus men, snake are deconfirmed aswell.

I wonder how many"i wont buy this game since X isnt in" comments will be.

There would be that even if all of those were in, the phrase "people are never happy" is incredibly true. I'm admittedly miffed about Chorus Boys, but w/e

Well, if this NeoGAF is anything to go by. Dixie, the Chorus Kids, Mewtwo and Ridley can be unlocked if you link the 3DS version to the Wii U version.

Take it as a grain of salt like any other rumor/leak until we get info of any of them.

So you're telling me.

I have to buy a fucking 200$ console.

Buy the Wii u Version

To unlock 4 characters

NOOOOOOOPE.

Has this guy been accurate with leaks before or is this just the equivalent of some random jackoff sayin "my dad works at nintendo"? Because I have no reason to even acknowledge this guy as things stand now.

SSB4Dojo over at Tumblr added that a moderator from Smashboards said something similar about those four. It's a wait and see.

If the NeoGAF guy was playing a joke, then he go fuck himself.

From a guy in the Smashboards, Wanted to share this.

So it's become pretty clear that the 'leaked' roster turns out to be the full completed roster. There's a lot of salt being passed around the table, but to those people, please hear out what I have to say:

"Yes, it sucks having Snake, Lucas, Wolf, & IC cut from the game. IC I knew weren't going to make it back cuz Sakurai hinted early in development that they where having technical difficulties with them on the 3DS, it is head scratching why the others where cut, but my theory is that they ran out of time. They prioritized the characters people defiantly wanted back and their new comers, it takes a long time to create a fighting game character guys and I strongly believe that the clones weren't given a priority over them. Sakurai knows people loves these characters no matter how big their popularity, but deadlines are deadlines. Unlike project M Smash 4 doesn't have the benefit of free labor to keep polishing a game and keep pumping stuff in, especially creating and balancing new characters."

"I think the clones where added as a way of condolences. "We're sorry we couldn't add the characters you wanted, we just ran out of time. We still want to give you the huge roster we promised though so we hope you will accept these additional characters we're able to scrounge up. Yes they're not original but it's the most we can do right now, please understand."
That's what I believe the mindset of the team was when they added Lucina, Dark Pit & Dr. Mario."

"But just look at the HUGE roster we have guys that's 80% original characters! Most fighting games that have a roster pushing 50 are almost all clones of only 5 characters! (Dargon Bal Z Cough Cough)"

"And DLC is still a possibility guys! We didn't think that Mario Kart 8 would get it but look now! I believe the best way to ensure we can still get our favorite fighters in is supporting Mario Kart 8 DLC. If nintendo sees how successful DLC was for them in Mario Kart, then they'll DEFINTLY start applying it to Smash, right now Nintendo is in a position where they can't refuse a cash cow when it presents itself."

"Yes I know it sucks guys, I feel it too, Wolf was ma Boi in Brawl, but I'm still more than greatful for this huge cast of incredibly diverse fighters. I think a lot of smash fans have been spoiled by years of a growing roster, right now I think it's important to step back and appreciate what a magnificent gift we've been given."

I'm rather fond with the roster we have now, don't mind if characters like ridley or mewtoo not getting the cut.

Yup, that color skin for Duck Hunt strongly resembles the duo. Heck, it might be my default color skin just for that.

Regarding DLC, well, first of all, I sure as hell will buy the DLC of MK8. If there's DLC for Smash Bros, I'll be like yeah, sure, bring it on. The possibilites will be endless anyway.

I can trust Nintendo plays the DLC cards fairly.

I mean, Mario Kart 8 DLC was 12 bucks to add 50% more to the game. So if the price balancing is the same, each DLC character would only cost… around a dollar (less actually)? Not that much, and kinda worth it.

The 3DS version is released earlier and has an extra game mode not available in the Wii U version.

In order to save the Wii U sales Nintendo better needs some marketing strategy here. So it's possible that they simply made people think that the 3DS version is already superior enough (for above reasons). But in the following months I'm quite certain some unique Wii U stuff will come out that will make the Wii U version seem superior, so that even 3DS owners want the Wii U version alongside it.

I wouldn't exclude Wii U exclusive fighters in the slightest. As Ash Wayne's quotes explained: Deadlines and technical difficulties on the 3DS. The Wii U doesn't have either of those issues yet, allowing a larger roster.

The Wii U has more great games. You're missing out, I'm telling you.

But if the Wii U version has more characters, wouldn't that mean that that would go against the statement of the two versions sharing rosters? Or would the 3DS get them at the same time?

@RandomMan

Now i know the wii u has awesome titles like wonderful 101, pikmin 3 and bayonetta 2, trust me, i'm not dissing the console, i actually love it…i'm just broke as hell right now and can't afford a wii u any time soon.

Which is why i'm kinda pissed if they actually locked 4 fighters for wii u version, i get they need cash, but thats what DLCs exist, man!

There is always the possibility of DLC. Considering there was supposed to be DLC for brawl, but it was dropped because the Wii wasn't able to get DLC. All they'd need to do is make the DLC available for both versions. Or who knows maybe we'll get an update that adds more characters.

Here's the entirety of the 3DS's stage roster.

Stages Shared With Wii U:

- Battlefield
- Boxing Ring
- Final Destination
- Wily Castle
- Gaur Plain

3DS-Exclusive Stages:

- 3D Land
- Arena Ferox
- Balloon Fight
- Find Mii
- Game Boy
- Gerudo Valley
- Golden Plains
- Living Room
- Magicant
- Mute City
- Pac-Maze
- Paper Mario
- PictoChat 2
- Prism Tower
- Rainbow Road
- Reset Bomb Forest
- Spirit Trains
- Tomodachi Life
- Tortimer Island
- Unova Pokémon League

Past Stages:

Melee
- Brinstar
- Corneria
- Jungle Japes

Brawl
- Distant Planet
- Flat Zone 2
- Green Hill Zone
- Mushroomy Kingdom
- WarioWare, Inc.
- Yoshi's Island

All in all, that adds up to a total of 34 stages for the 3DS version.

Also, I have no doubt in my mind that tomorrow's stream is going to mainly promote the Wii U version. The internet is pretty much promoting the 3DS version's features at this point, heh.
