Nintendo usually has a direct sometime on the first week of every month, though that didn't happen this time. And they don't usually make big announcements at conventions anymore.

Maybe it's one the storyline enemies, like the Subspace Emissary?

It's probably either a stage hazard or a boss for the story mode. (Sakurai wasn't making a Subspace Mode, but rather a story mode like in Melee)

But if it's the later, I find it odd that this one was the first to be made.

Or maybe a new kind of story mode at all.

When I first saw the trailer in the Nintendo Direct, they cut out the smash logo from the beginning so I thought it was them introducing Kirby into Mario Kart. But MIND BLOWN IT'S ROSALINA IN SMASH!

Now if they get Zelda back in we will have 5 girl characters.

I can just tell from all these suggestions and confirmed character this this is going to a SSB where I know none of these characters besides the returning ones. I'm going to play this because I'm pretty sure at least one of my friends will get it, and I soon as I see the characters I'll just be like, "WHO THE FUCK ARE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE!?"

I don't play much Nintendo.

If you don't play much Nintendo, obviously you won't no any of the characters in it. Expecting anything else is ridiculous.

If we get any MGS characters besides Snake, Ocelot or The Boss are the first ones to come to my mind. Since we got Snake Eater 3DS, it wouldn't fit to add Raiden or Sam.
I'm still waiting for a Wii U HD collection.
