And I love every single thing about it. Nintendo might have just won E3 completely, unless they make a sudden reveal tomorrow and fucking blow everyone's minds out of the goddamn world.

Looking at you, Star Fox. Make the move, Nintendo.

Well

Never Doubt Nintendo. Ever……

The thing is, they might not know exactly what they're going to add. They might just know they'll want to add characters in the future when they get ideas like how Nintendo thinks DLC should be used. Or they could just be greedy as hell just like EA. Who can really tell? This all-around positive reaction is quite ironic and rather unwarranted as of now, but I can still understand why people would be happy about this for logical reasons instead of just bias.

It's because Nintendo has consistently been releasing full games that don't actually need the DLC in order to play, win, and have fun with it, and either match or bypass content amount of the previous games.

Fire Emblem Awakening: 43 stages On Disk, 6 More for Free (49 total). 24 DLC Stages that have nothing to do with the main story. (Also note most of the items and characters from the DLC can be obtained via Spot Pass)
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: 42 stages On Disk

So Awakening bypassed the content amount of it's previous game, and it's DLC was non-intrusive to the main game.

New Super Mario Bros U: 82 stages, the New Super Luigi U stages Doubleing the Game Size (82)
New Super Mario Bros Wii: 77 stages if I didn't miscount.

Once again we are given a game with MORE content than it's predecessor, and the DLC that is non-intrusive to the main story or the ability to win.

I'm not going to go over all the examples, but the basic pattern here is that Nintendo hasn't released a game who's content has been cut down to make room for DLC. And many people now trust Nintendo that the games they will be releasing will be full games, and the DLC will merely be bonus content.

Rhythm Heaven character appears as an enemy in Smash Run. It's called the ghost.

If the Chorus Kids are ever announced, then the leak is 100% real.

Updated my prediction list. Axed anything that wasn't Nintendo from it.

33. Pac Man

Characters confirmed but don’t have a profile yet:
34. Mr. Game & Watch (Whiteboard AND Pac Man Reveal)

Characters confirmed via Whiteboard:
35. Meta Knight (Also note that the Halberd is a returning stage)
36. Wario (Also note that Waluigi and Ashley are both marked as Wario Characters)
(Note, any fighters above this number will go against Sakurai’s statement that there will be no more playable characters than there where previously)

Characters confirmed via Series Inclusion:
37. Captain Falcon (Samurai Goroh Assist Trophy)
38. Ness or Lucas (Mr. Saturn and Franklin Badge items)
39. Ice Climbers (Polar Bear in Smash Run)
40. A Fire Emblem Awakening Rep (Arena Ferox. Will likely involve Robin or Chrom. However, note that Chrom and Gaius both won the first popularity poll for what characters Japanese gamers want to see in the new Smash Brothers. Note the Gematsu Leak notes Chrom as the 3rd fire emblem representative. Note that Robin will be the best next option if Sakurai does not wish to have a Marth/Ike Mix Clone. Also note that Robin would allow another female into the cast as well as the current 10.)
(Note: Any fighters above this number will go against Sakurai’s statement that there will be no more playable characters than there where previously TECHNICALLY)
41. A rep from Rhythm Heaven. Likely Marshal. (Gematsu Leak and series representation in Smash Run.)

Speculation and Low Priority Returning Characters:
42. A Xeno character, likely Shulk (Gematsu Leak)
43. The fully evolved form of a Grass Type Starter Pokémon (Speculation. It would complete the Pokémon Elemental Triangle. And because Pokémon Gen 3 is getting a Remake. Sceptile?)
44. Isaac from Golden Sun (This is a stretch as he was simply not shown off during the assist trophy demonstration. But he can be potentially promoted.)
45. A villain from an already established series in the game. (King K Rool and or Hades. Note that Ridley has been confirmed as a Stage Boss, but keep in mind Sakurai’s tendency to play with expectations. Also note that Hades has the potential of being the Story Mode final boss if Sakurai gets cheeky. The only remaining villain who makes sense is the Black Knight from Fire Emblem.)
46. An updated Gannondorf (Recall how Sakurai stated that when updating Yoshi, he wanted to keep it under wraps as not to cause too much of a disturbance. This may be the same case.)
47. Lucas or Ness depending on which one isn’t added first (they are clones of one another)(NOTE: One may become an alternate skin of another!)
48. Jigglypuff (Was low priority in Brawl)
49. Falco (Clone Character)(Note: it’s been suggested that Falco or Wolf take over Snake’s Moveset if Snake does not reappear.)(NOTE: May become a Skin of Starfox!)
50. Wolf (Was low priority in Brawl)(NOTE: May be prioritized over Falco in order to have another villain in the game!)(NOTE: May become a Skin of Starfox!)
51. ROB (Has yet to be mentioned at all, though Miyamoto still shows interest in him)

Characters likely not returning:
• Dr. Mario (Note that Dr. Mario did have code pertaining to him in Brawl, however was cut due to time constraints)(NOTE: This may appear as an alternate skin for Mario!)
• Young Link (Forever replaced by Toon Link)
• Pichu (Note that Pulse and Minim where set to replace Pichu, however was cut due to time constraints)
• Mewtwo (Note that Mewtwo did have code pertaining to him in Brawl, however was cut either due to Time Constraints or his similarity to Lucario)
• Roy (Note that Roy did have code pertaining to him in Brawl, and could actually be added to the opening cutscene via a cheat device. He was likely cut due to time constraits)
• Squirtle (Because Charizard was separated from the Pokemon Trainer, and Greninja took the spot of a Water Type Pokemon in the game, Squirtle will likely be demoted back to a Pokeball or cut all together)
• Ivysaur (Because Charizard was separated from the Pokemon Trainer, Ivysaur is an odd one out amongst the Pokemon not being in his fully evolved form. If he returns, it will be as a Venasaur. However, the counter speculation that Septile might be in the game to accommodate a middle generation representation makes Ivysaur irrelevant.)
• Solid Snake (Kojima had stated he was not aware of Solid Snake being back in the game, and invited Sakurai to add him in again despite not wanting to bring Ground Zeros/The Phantom Pain to the Wii U. However its likely too late to add snake back in and the previously mentioned not bringing Metal Gear to the Wii U makes Snake’s chances almost dead.)

If Smash Run enemies are indicative of who's appearing/returning, the Polar Bear's appearance (see SmashWiki) confirms that our favorite frosty duo, the Ice Climbers, are making a comeback. Almost every confirmed character has at least one enemy to represent their franchise, with the only exceptions being characters from the Fire Emblem, Punch-Out, Wii Fit, and Star Fox franchises. This is all based on what we know from the demo, but the cast of 53 unique enemies is still likely to grow.

Anyway, here are some characters that I want to see as playable contestants in SSB4 DLC or in SSB5 (in no particular order):

Waluigi (Super Mario Brothers).

Captain Syrup (Wario Land).

Kamek (Yoshi's Island).

Skull Kid (The Legend Of Zelda).

Mach Rider (Mach Rider).

King K. Rool (Donkey Kong).

Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes).

Bayonetta (Bayonetta).

John Raimi (Geist).

Black Shadow (F-Zero).

Flint (Earthbound/MOTHER).

Simon Belmont (Castlevania).

Chibi-Robo (Chibi-Robo).

Ridley (Metroid).

Banjo And Kazooie (Banjo-Kazooie).

Isaac (Golden Sun).

Stafy/Starfy (The Legend Of Stafy/Starfy).

Any grass-type Starter Pokemon, preferentially fully evolved (Pokemon).

Any character from Eternal Darkness.

Any character from Custom Robo.

I'm still baffled if Ice Climbers do return since Rosalina's Move set is heavily based on their own.
I still think they might become secret unlockable instead of being announced maybe with a new moveset

Not really, Rosalina is more of a puppet character like Carl from Blazblue or Miss Fortune from Skull Girls as in you have a secondary semi-controllable character that you are able to place where you want and combo off of. The Ice Climbers don't really work in that fashion as Nana sticks to Popo like glue and unlike proper puppet characters you can't, for example, throw Nana at the enemy or get her to stay put. Separating them (while occasionally useful) takes some doing and can be detrimental as most of the Climber's abilities (most importantly up-special) are built off of having the two together, whereas the Princess and Luma seem to work best separated.

Did anyone watch the full Smash Bros. Invitational Tournament? This was definitely the highlight of it:

KDJ (playing Rosalina) running towards Megaman's final smash, just so the crowd could go wild. What a bro.

So, seeing as how now Mr. Game&Watch is a likely return, I think it's time we start asking ourselves the questions that matter, the questions that will define Smash for the next generation:
How will the announcer yell his name on the character selection screen?
Will it be said in four words, like Melee, (MR! GAME! AND! WATCH!) one word, like Brawl, (Mrgameandwatch!) or perhaps something entirely new…
First name: Mister. Middle name: Game&. Last name: Watch!

Today, I went to Best Buy for the national demo of Super Smash Bros. Since everyone was only allowed to play one 4-player match, I picked Zero Suit Samus. Since I was not familiar with the Wii U controller, I sucked, but hey, it was fun.

I went and picked ZSS too. The controls threw me off as well, and I ended up in a tie for 3rd, but I did get a Smash Ball, and my brother won as Greninja, who apparently was winning all the fights. I especially like how the results screen music is the music from the N64 version's character select screen, if only because it shows that they care about their past.

Here's the victory poses shown during the E3 Smash Demo. Shiek's not part of the video. Interesting thing to note is that Bowser was given a remix of the Mario Bros theme and Rosalina was given her own based on the Galaxy series.

Also, here are the newcomer taunts.

I can't wait to unlock Mega Man and Pac-Man once the games first comes out on the 3DS. Because Mega-Man,Pac-Man and Kirby will be one of the main characters I can use to beat other players on Online mode.

So far we have Male Wii Fit Trainer, Sweatshirt Mac, and the Villager Alts. So…

And they hinted at a Voice Pack for Pit to switch out to Dark Pit.

So beyond that… Link could Easily have his other Tunics from Twilight Princess. Then Mario could be Dr Mario. And maybe even have Luigi as Mr. L.

However… I am a tiny bit afraid that a few former clone characters will return to the game as skins to other characters. Lucas as a costume for Ness, Mewtwo as a costume for Lucario. Falco over Fox. Etc.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

HOLD ON, now I KNOW the leaker is completely full of shit. Why? Because of this amazing contradiction that just popped up. Let me present to you all the following.

Notice: ALL the characters where planned and nailed BEFORE they started development. So, how could internal debate be happening about character inclusion… ALMOST TWO YEARS INTO THE GAMES PRODUCTION!?!

I 'gasmed when I saw megaman's victory pose.

According to Twitter, LeBron James is causing serious stress and possibly heart attacks.

Also according to Twitter, a new challenger is to be announced for Smash Bros. on Monday, 10am US Eastern.

I'm surprised that there are so many , because it sounded like they were aiming for fewer challengers in order to focus on balance. But I'm not complaining, because it just means one more chance for Lucina.

My money is on Shulk from Xenoblade. Not only was he part of the leak which has, so far, proven true.

Also, Monolith Soft tweeted about the reveal also, which may give us a clue.

Let's also not forget that Next Level games, devs of Punch Out on Wii, tweeted about the direct Little Mac was revealed in.

They should've announced it during EVO. That's a total miss for advertising. But it seems like it's just one new challenger, potentially means an another actual newcomer to the series.

I'm not complaining about roster size either, because I really hope the Smash Bros originals (Captain Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff) get announced soon, as well as the popular clones like Falco.

I'm waiting for Shulk to be revealed so I can see Chuggaconroy have a fangazam in the next Xenoblade Chronicles LP Episode, ahaha.

But yeah, Xenoblade was the first Monolithsoft RPG for Nintendo after Nintendo bought them, and with it's critical acclaim Shulk makes the most sense.

Actually, there was a DS RPG called Soma Bringer that never made it out of Japan. It came out in 2008, while Xenoblade came out in 2010. Granted, it was nowhere near as well received as Xenoblade, so Shulk still makes the most sense.
