Origin
On January 23rd, 2023, X[1] / Twitter gimmick account wikipedia but i made them up (@WikiOoc) posted a photograph captioned, "All cats are fueled by autism in their own unique way," with the macro imitating an image found in a Wikipedia entry and its description. The post (shown below) garnered over 8,300 reposts and 47,000 likes in one year.
Spread
The image saw viral spread online in the following days. For example, on January 24th, 2023, Tumblr[2] user escuerzoresucitado and iFunny[3] user PirateEnthusiast both reposted the image, with the posts garnering over 4,500 reblogs and 7,300 likes and 2,100 smiles, respectively, in one year.
On March 28th, 2023, X[4] user @ecto_fun posted the earliest discovered edit of the meme, replacing the photo of the serval with the cover image of the 1977 film House. The post (shown below, left) received over 490 reposts and 4,400 likes in 10 months. On March 30th, Tumblr[5] user tyaz posted an edit which, together with a fan art by user fae0jr,[6] received over 21,000 likes and reblogs in 10 months (shown below, center and right).
The meme format saw continued use through 2023.
